Before the beta was released, there was rumour that this was the plan for penny. I was somewhat disappointed that pennsylvannia became just another Liberty system, with peculiar bases.

Rheinland-
New Berlin Jump Hole-
Station next to the jumphole has a Rheinland Military bribe(lawful), and Red Hessian bribe(unlawful)

Bretonia-
New London jump Hole-
Station next to the jump hole has a BAF bribe and a Molly bribe

Liberty-
New York JH
Station has LN or LPI bribe and a LR bribe

Kusari-
New Tokyo JH
Station has KNF bribe and BD bribe

Corsairs-
Gamma JH
Station has corsair bribe

Outcasts-
Alpha JH
Station has Outcast bribe

Junkers-
Puerto Rico JH?
Station has Junker bribe

Zoners/Freelancers-
??? JH
Station has Zoner and Freelancer Bribe

With the set up mentioned above I would say you obviously set the station and JH of the corresponding faction together. But the station is put on the other side of the JH, like there would be no stations in the neutral starting system, so that one could not get a corsair bribe and jump through the Outcasts jump hole. You would have to go through the jump hole and obtain the bribe on the other side, the non-starting system side of the jumphole.

Also, possibly put a light fighter of each above mentioned faction on a station with corresponding weapons, so that you wouldn't be all the sudden caught in a star flier among tons of level 17 enemies(even though I know some of you love that, even make videos of it).

The idea of having 2 bribes is that either you go good or you go bad at the start. This is just my quick thoughts on it. Oh and I think the idea is great if you couldn't tell.

Only 2 bribes per choice? What if I were to set up a BPA ship? Or a gaian? What about trade factions?

Only having 2 to chose ain't gonna cut it. Splitting it into good/bad with such a divide, factions such as Xenos, who are hostile to LR, would have a bit of bother setting up for example.

Well I'd rather make it good or bad, and let people fix their reps from there.
I thought this was about making things smoother, but avoiding spoon feeding people the easiest route.
Also I didn't make that post as a final say on anything, I meant it as something to construct on.
But Xeno's and Gaian are a little more RP intensive, it would be bad for a bunch of newbie's to throw themselves into those factions without knowing a thing about how to roleplay them.
Again as I said, this would be a decent set up for things to branch off of, while still not spoon feeding new commers into a false sense of comfort into rolling a Xenos and being hated by everyone, and killed constantly.

I agree with this.......in a sense.

Make the system with 2 or 3 bases with fixed bribes for all the major house factions,some simple commodities to learn about trade and make a little cash.( meaning only 1 bribe per faction)

1 or 2 mineable clouds.

NO npc's.

1 way jump holes to the 5 houses that come out NOT in patrol paths...dont wanna die in the first 3 seconds.

It's pretty damn simple people.

You have a station you start on.
It has all the bribes.
When you undock, it is hostile to you (It's reputation could be Admin, as long as it's hostile.)
You are presented with multitudes of jumpholes. You choose the one to your home system.

Freeworlds has done the exact same except for the last bit. In Freeworlds they have you docking at another station (Actually a bouy, whatever, you can land on bloody Manhattan by docking with a docking ring at New Berlin if you want) that is your reputation's station.
IE.
You make a new character, starting in this station.
You go to the bar of the station you are on.
You choose from one of the two dozen or so bribes that are there, and easy to get.
You undock.
You dock with the bouy of your reputation.
You buy the ship that is on sale there (Your reputations normal one)
You undock and take the jumphole infront of you.

Now, you can eliminate the last 3 options there for Disco's purposes.

But yes, one station fits all and stops the whole issue of docking at other bases to get their rep too.

I think Linkus's idea will have to work, my attempt failed, and why the hell would the waring houses want to be in the same system? OORP is the solution!

I don't see the need to have all of the bribes in one or several stations throughout this starting system. It's just easier to set it up as a teleporting tool to get you where you need to go.The bribes are already set up in vanilla FL. Also, this could be used for recruiting players into factions. Anyway, I voted 'Yes'.
