May I just suggest a civilian plasma weapon?
nothing particularly flashy, maybe take something simmilar to the Phoenix effect, but make it light blue in color?

600 M/S weapon... either 2.00 3.03 or 4.00
it would have to do alot less damage than the RM Firekiss though

the gallians already have such a effect to my knowledge. So it would need to be more generic.

maybe yellow or something to fit their other guns

what is the peoples feeling about the capital ships weapons in general? ( their look )

the most amazing parts about them is when you re not the capital ship - and you see their projectiles flying all around. - now that they re not so insanely fast anymore ( some of them ) they are more than just flashes....

now i m not really a friend of those "bolts" ( that means - you shoot a ball that has a tail ) - but what i DO like are beams ( no, not the previously described continous beams - but short ones - basicly just "lines" - like star wars lasers )

the kusari effect is a nice one ( the gunboat turrets ) they are yellow lines - very plain and simple. - now when battleship turrets and all the usual non special weapons ( primary, secondary, cerberus, solaris ) were "just lines" - quite long ones maybe ... and as massive as the muzzles suggest - flying through those would look even nicer.

also.... do projectiles "glow"? - that means... do they illuminate the enviroment? or is freelancer not that advanced.

not sure whats the opinions about it - but i think when battleships / cruisers fired lines instead of "drops" - it would look better.

oh - and the razor effect - can we possibly look into that, too? - this large ball is really rediculous ... and is it possible to add a "random" explosion to the flaks? - when you fire two flaks at once... they explode in the exact same way.

well a stretched effect made bright etc would make a nice beam like you speak jink, would be simple to do the claymore is kind of like this, i got the middle of the diamond back effect and got the particle effect of krakens put them together it gave a long blade like shrapnel effect. doing the same idea with a flatter straighter effect (best one to use would be lasers (reavers etc) and stretch).

Razor effects, i had problems with those, i also dont think razors need a explosion or much of a hit effect other than a gaping hold effect. Razor i see as a pierce round per say, tears through armour though does not explode.

Glow can be added to weapons yes, it would mean adding a very small light source but i am sure its possible.

as for your flaks, be patient with those you will have a fantastic surprise from silent soon.

Personally, I'm more of a fan of balls without tails, as opposed to lines. Sort of like most of the codes. Lines just look too plain to me.

i will be honest it is apparent each house etc and other folks tend to use different power sources / compositions to power their ships and weapons. I think it would be safe to assume there would be both "balls" and "tails" (does not sound right) getting used.

currently we got the upper one - sort of. all bolts look like that. - and i d love to have the lower ones ( well, not that oblong - but i m sure you get the idea ) - no "ball" at the front and much longer - so thta they look like a "stream" - and of course... light never looks like that ...

What about adding one or 2 more Anti shield missiles? Currently, we have the Neutralizer (cl 7) and Paralyzer (cl 10). Not only big gap in the classes, but also in the damage.

We could also make more diversity within the Cap ship Missiles, like adding anti shield missiles there too.

There are also Liner Turrets floating aroun in game, only location you see them is on the stationary OSC ships.
I'd wish them to be available at least for the Lux Liners, maybe also for Yacht and Geisha.

Another thing i'd be happy with would be house-specific transport turrets. Yes, there are the small ones, but what about adding some for the big ships, too?

Also, once we are at the Transport turrets. Most of them have multiple barrels. Would it be possible to create projectiles that looks like the barrels shoot 1-2(-3) in a short time?
