' Wrote:one issue. you havent got an exclusion zone around the planet in the dark cloud, and thus it seems odd with bits of rock sticking out of the planet.
Yes, I do. Just haven't included the asteroids in it yet. Think I mentioned that in the first post. Think of this version of the system like an untextured model. It had it's general shape and is presentable to the public and recognizable, but it's not by any means done yet. I have another base to add, complete with exclusion zone, I have to include the asteroids in the three existing exclusion zones, and I have to do some fixing of Narco Mafie, add some parts to the Refinery, fix map graphics, write in the infocards, stress test, and do a bunch of other fixes and such before I can even start compiling it for Igiss.
Zoners - too spread out and untrained to wage war, ever. They just cant face professionaly trained soldiers, even with more numbers. Most of their ships are not even proper warships. Juggernauts are just colony ships, Gunboats something along the lines of heavy armed freighters. Also, inRP there isnt very much of their capital ships, players dont count, sorry. Zoner capital ships are rare, Juggernaut inforcard states something like that, even.
Corsairs - They have too much enemies, too much wars. Outcasts, Hessians, Bretonia, BHG Core and even Nomads. Also, chain of command and training, theyre often fighting each other, which weakens them.
Outcasts - Might be wealthy, might have a lot of resources, but dont have enough numbers and again, are not trained.
All those three do not equal house militaries in my opinion. Just size of ships and number of those ships isnt always everything, and inRP they dont have even that much of them. Capital ships for those factions were introducted in Disco, House capital ships are here for ages - how many could they make in that short period of time? Also, You need to take training, experience, and much more into consideration.
Im sorry for not being on topic, but such statements usually make me facepalm hard. If you feel the need to discuss this further, make another thread then. I wont reply to this one anymore.
I find the purchase of Omicron-64 in of itself to be interesting. Sigma-60 is going to be surrounded by guard systems (RoS, GMG, & SOB/BLS). I always thought a system similar to Omega-49 was in store for Omicron-64, but I guess I was wrong.
Good work on the system, but I don't agree that a colony that spans the entire diameter of a planet is feasible or practical.

You'll find it's not a guard system. As Obnoxious said at the beginning of this thread, only a very specific area is populated by Guard NPCs. The rest are normal Outcasts. Doesn't mean they can't kill you, though...
Regardless, it's not really my place to continue arguing for Venice. I'm here to make the system and provide information on it, not defend the original design plan. That's the SOB/BLS's job.
' Wrote:Baconsoda, please read and respond to the counter arguments - all of them, not just the one you like - instead of just quoting Blodo and agreeing with him. If you had, you'd realize that it's not a project of that scale. It's the size of the Ring, but far less complex. It has nothing to do with a gas giant. The nearest gas giant is on the other side of the system. Aside from that, remember, Outcasts use slaves on their plantation. In my opinion, they'd probably use slaves as factory workers instead of soiling precious Maltese hands. They tend to be a bit stuck up that way.
I did. I just thought that I might try reason again. Afterall, two people can often sway opinions better than one.
Upward power spirals are great, aren't they? The rate at which population, technology, and basically civilization is growing in Discovery is staggering. It's rather silly, and that's the point I am trying to get across. It starts with "A tiny planetoid", then the OCs have a claim at being richer than Liberty, hands down the richest group of peoples in the sector, because they have a bigger station than them, not to mention Bretonia, Rheinland, and Kusari, which are all portrayed as being much richer than any other single entity in the game. Then the Corsairs have to get one, then the Houses all have to catch up with entities which are logically both smaller and poorer than them, and it just gets more and more ridiculous from there. Before you know it, the GC can buy Kusari Battleships and the LWB have Hessian-captured Osirises out the bum.
Slippery slope? It may be, but look at Discovery, it's one with a precedent, to use that word that everyone spouts out so much.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
The general premise of why the station is so big ( & it's around a very small planet, like 4 to 6 k end to end) is to reduce the over use of several bases in 1 system. From what I read in the new system creation rules set forth by Igiss, you are allowed up to 6 bases / stations. All we have done with Denelos design of a station surrounding a planet was to condense 3 bases in to 1.
Now as far as the OC being richer than Liberty, no probably not even close. But why would anyone having a faction in Liberty complain? They have what.. 6, 7? or more planets to land on, Outcast have 1, more ship yards & bases / stations than you can count ect ect ect.. So we made a large Refinery/Base/Shipyard & distribution center. With the profits made from Cardamine & other ventures do you think we couldn't afford it?
Seriously, The entire system with exception to 1 small area is open access to all. NOT a guard system.
It is intended to add more role play for not only Outcast & it's allies, but GMG, Kusari, Nomads & even the Corsairs if they want to venture in there. It is also an intention to add yet another trade route for smugglers adding to their rp as well.
Im just curious if there would be this much whining if we would have went with 6 large stations instead of 2 small ones & 1 large 1?
Apologies for the delay. This actually happened over a week ago, but as anyone who's been trying to contact me recently can attest to, I haven't been on much lately.
To be done:
Guard base population and dealers.
Fixing other base population issues.
Path Patrols.
Ambient patrols.
Patrol testing.
Client and import testing.
Infocards.
Infocard testing.
Packaging and submission.
I still need:
The actual text for the infocards
Text for all three base infocards
Text for all three planet infocards
Text for both fields' infocards
Text for all base rumors (I don't get it, you don't get a rumor)
NPC names (I don't get them, you get Corsair NPCs.:P)
The names of the Guard base and surrounding nebula.
To know whether or not I'm doing the infocard formatting and if you want custom base NPCs (extra 125 million if so. 50 million for formatting, 75 million for NPCs. High prices are due to the time it takes to do these things).
I noticed there is very high radiation in that dark nebula. Is that amount of radiation absolutely necessary? It looks like a cool place to hang out, being all dark and mystical, but high radiation is really a turn off. I understand it's the guard area. Maybe you could add more weapons platforms spread throughout the nebula instead.
I'd really love to see our custom texts, not generic ones!
Will there be any missions in Omicron-64?
I'm sure our SOB leaders will contact you soon, but please be patient because there's a real life issue that needs to be taken care of.
