@Doc.
Yes, but you can also go through the Sigmas and haul your plutonium that way too.
We will, in the coming days, be re-discussing Zone of Activity (Not to be confused with Zone of Influence) on where the Privateers can, should, and do go for their interdiction duties as well as where they can, should, and do dock.
Also, for those of you cranky about being interdicted by us, let me remind you that Kusari is very clearly winning this war. Upper Leeds is part of Kusari as well as the lower Taus. Privateers' job has become more important of late to interdict as much war material from reaching the front lines as possible. This means that yes, indirectly, the traders that are "just passing through" are going to get hit just as hard as that Kishiro/Samura tagged trader.
Yes, we can but I see QCP ships in Okinawa and Honshu. So just how in hell are we even supposed to get there without getting raped, ordered to drop our cargo or whatever? Mind you, the Zoners have an Alliance with the GMG which is where we get a lot of our plutonium from. The GMG is also semi-independent of Kusari. Think about it!
And in reality, QCP ships would have a tough time getting that far in without someone picking at them. I DO see them in Kyushu as a ZOI.
I also think they're misguided. They think that because we transit through Kyushu/Shikoku that we're doing business. Um...ever here of niobium being run into NY? Deuterium into Ames? Or even when I run superconductors to Omicron 74. I can't go through Rheinland with Liberty goods and according to QCP, I can't go through Kusari so now what, go all the way around through Bretonia where one of them will harass me there anyway? I'm losing my patience!
Privateers can obviously hunt traders in Kusari and the Taus, and Kyushu. How much farther into Kusari seems to be up for debate.
In doing so, some Zoners will get in the crossfire.
This is NOT the same thing as happened last time, when QCP were pew-pewing Zoners in Omega 49 and in Dublin (on their way out/in to Omega 49)
I left QCP because I felt that was extreme.
I also seldom took my QCP past Kyushu. That's just me.
Now, unless you think that sort of thing is happening again, it seems a bit silly to have last year's fight.
Used to be QCP targeted Zoners for being Zoners. If that happens again I'll leave QCP again, because I never thought the RP behind that made sense. And I'm right.
Under Arvg, so far, I don't see that that IS happening again.
In short a continuation of the Zoner/QCP thing now, seems as pointless as firing up the Boer war, now.
I rarely meet QCP because just about all of them play at different times than me (somehow whole kusari is much more alive during european night).
However, from the times when I met them I have to agree it was rather irritating to have them log on Ainu and fly to NT/Honshu preferably at times when KNF was in Taus or Leeds. Then if KNF would fly back to NT they would leave and sometimes log back on BAF characters in Taus. Yes this is the whole goal of attacks behind enemy lines and QCP can congratulate themselves for it as they do, but it's certainly no fun for the other side.
Therefore it would be nice if they are based on Harris (the BMM base behind enemy lines is a bit of a stretch) and then fly from there to Kyushu.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
Other than all that arguing chaos that's already been thrown up there (not going to touch that with a big stick), it seems like instead of these attacks in the major sectors, a more logical choice would be the major trade chokepoints. The biggest thought I would have is southern Shikoku. It would be way cool to see some QCP block off southern Shikoku and the adjacent systems, possibly basing at the place in Kepler/Galileo (can never remember which is which). That does represent a huge portion of Kusari trade - the other huge chunk going to Rheinland and such.

So can y'all step back a notch?
edited heavily to remove rant-like tone:
I explained this already in the QCP skype.
May as well explain it again.
Any ship refusing to roleplay or believing that they are immune to having to pay over some cargo or credits when encountered by what is essentially a pirate will get shot.
I've encountered four zoners in the last four days. One (TAZ ship) roleplayed and paid a reasonable tax for trading in the territory of our sworn enemy.
Two believed that I was breaking the rules by shooting them when I taxed them. One of these threatened me with reports.
The fourth screamed in system chat that I had killled innocent civilians and, assisted by five other ships, gave me a pretty lacklustre ganking. I think the lot of them managed two lines between them.
Accusing the QCP of picking on Zoners just we are trying to re-establish activity is pretty disingenuous. It's like accusing Corsairs of picking on traders.
So long as a significant number of halfwits on the server believe that being a Zoner is a easy ticket to a consequence-free and role-play free experience in which the amassing of credits is done quickly and easily, stuff like this will happen. BUT not all Zoners get treated the same, just as not all traders get treated the same. The idiots will get short shrift.
The only debate currently going on is the very one-sided one which seems determined to kill off this faction before it has a chance to get in the air again. And none, mind you, in roleplay.
If you don't like the pirates, bloody well shoot them.
edit: I wouldn't run to the defence of hunters who acted like nubtards. It would make me look like a nubtard.
I meet a QCP gunboat with my large train in Kyushu
he/she DEMANDS 2000 cargo (i had been severely pirated before this and had only 3982 Polymers)
i was heading by baffin (AFA and some indy pirates i play with was in shikoku, and LH + OC was camping both kepler and galilelo)
i explain the situation, how i just had this ship from my insurance company, they were angry and i asked if some compensations could be made to lessen the insurance costs.
QCP was silent.... goes "drop or dai"... i drop and i starts flying away. Politely saying goodbye and acting properly... then i get CD'd and he goes... hey i asked for all your cargo...
I reply with 1 line OOC //You asked for 2000 Polymers, THAT IS 2000 polymers. I can take screens if you need more proof
Then he goes, no i didnt and killed me... EXPLAIN.. EXPLAIN THIS LOGIC
explain why qcp kill me when running Noibium to liberty from Tau23?I fly from JH to JH... and as far as i know, one dont pay taxes to kusari for JH's
your members have on many occasions ignored RP attempts simply to go "pay or dai".... you pay, leaves like with any other pirate. you die... you stay, you die to being a nuisans.... were is the logic?
as far as i know, its illegal to kill after demand has been complied to, unless offended. and any trade knows not to offend a gunboat when its 21k till the closest base
