Well, I admit, not sure what 'skidley' means though 'skidly' is an american slang term. Mispelled? Also, 'skidley' I was explained would be the same as 'skidmark' in the same language you speak. I'll give the benefit of a doubt. Recommended to hold tongue next time.

What i saw on those SS was that you forgot to mask the players that had nothing to do with the insident.
Scruffy the console message is a automatet message telling who on the server is admins not who are online.

And now close this tread as it is not going to solve anything, it is close to be a flamepost now.

Lets resume what happend.
A trader escaped some pirates and docked. then in system chat some words were exchanged that was a bit OOC. Then the trader put it here, And now alot of players have replyed, We got some SS showing some of what was sayed but i guess we havent seen the whole, so let it rest here and start all over. this do not help the individual trader nor do this help the Pirates.

so for all parts on the server lets end this here and look forwards.

Um, no. F1ing is only against the rules in space while in combat. You do not have to wait till you are idle kicked.


And as a side note, I think that the screens just show NovaPG trying to use "I'll report you" as a threat, telling them the couldn't hit the side of a barn is just good taunting. I honestly can imagine a trader sitting on a station broadcasting that to the pirates that were chasing him.

What I'm gathering from the SSs is that NovaPG taunted, 'Scruffy' responded in kind, taunting back at them for losing. Insulting general pirates (IC insults are allowed, as long as it doesn't go overboard..). Then the NovaPG started to threaten to report. Starting the OOC. This seems to me where Scruffy started down the OOC path himself, telling them to go ahead and report it. I think what he said in the SSs can be taken either way. Admins can't be biased, and people's opinions of IC chat differs. Meaning admins would generally have to be lenient about punishing for this particular offense. One person might think he was IC, others might think he is OOC. Unless its obvious, the person can't rightfully be punished, because he might have been in IC, and it just seemed OOC to others.

Continual harassment of one trader could be seen as a reason to get a little agitated, maybe be equated as a
bit of PvP chasing ? Or even disrupting gameplay yourself with too much trashtalk.
If the trader docks, call it a day, you lose that round ... Just say "Next time mate" and move on. He aint going
to come out and match up a train with a few fighters is he ... Get real.
It works both ways in this situation, don't drop to either level. Target rich environment out there.

I was recommending david421 (Scruffy) to watch his language next time, keep it as clean as possible, no need for shady terms. Also, I explained what 'skidley' may mean. Knowing that david421 said he's an american, I assume he misspelled the word. However, the other word is just as bad. I am giving him the benefit of a doubt though and I'm not explaining the meaning of the words, it's good if you know what it means, it's also good if you don't know.

skidley was on the spot fabrication, actually meant to say, 'Gridley', so what-ever is tacked to it's meaning, is up to anyone.
I'm not sure where 'Go Ahead Gridley', comes from, the phrase has been hanging on my mind.
