I like both AVP and AVP2, but I didn't like this much.
May be it's just me but single-player campaign was a lackluster for me. Especially alien campaign: very short, small maps, it's as if they just thrown you into multiplayer maps and placed targets here and there. I remember playing first AVP (in fact I have it's updated steam version installed recently), you had to plan ahead, observe the situation, find ins and outs before rushing in and killing everyone. Here it has nothing of that. Beginning was fun a little but it got uninteresting very very quick.
Plus like it has been said before - alien is slow. And I'm no fan of those "killing moves" either. Overall the game has been a disappointment for me. I had hoped for AVP1 made with better graphics while keeping on the same ideas and possibly containing new features. Not here. Except for graphics, which is nothing spectacular either. Technically it's fine but level design is lacking and poorly used it, oh well - don't get me started on that.
I dont like it so much too. In my opinion its too much for console. Game controls arent real PC gaming, even mouse movements arent clear. Its made for gamepad. It doesnt fit me. BFBC2 will be the Real game.
Ehh, I played some hour maybe 2 with predator and something with Alien, I am dissapointed how some controls have been handled with Alien, climbing on walls, it's messy, don't like it at all.
I can't complain about graphics, it's very detailed and looks great.
With Predator is fun though, got some cool tricks etc, but I expected more in general.
Ohh, it's PC version, I have it on PC.
Truth to be told I had some hopes about this one at the beginning, I liked the first game very much, in fact I preferred it to the second one. But this one just sucks. Well, it should have been Monolith (developers of AvP2) to do it, not Rebellion (developers of AvP1). It's way too much a console game. Like the whole business with hold this key and then press that mouse button. This is ridiculous, we have a full keyboard and those combination should have been just a single key available to map it anywhere you wanted. Let alone I do not even understand why you need those combination to use vents as alien. Neither in first game nor in second we had to do that. Frankly that's a very stupid design decision to put it in the first place. All that leaping as alien is clunky to say the least. Anyway, it just sucks. Graphics alone doesn't save all the bad decisions in game design and lackluster single player campaigns.
