The one thing that really bothered me, as an MUN student, the events that took place within the game would not be possible. Even if USA got framed for killing innocent Russians, it doesn't justify Russian committing genocide on American civilians. The world wouldn't just stand by there and watch, there would be heavy sanctions lifted on both countries, more on Russia since they pretty much invaded and killed more Americans and all.

But everything else was fine.
True. But what can you do against an angry Russia? They control a large surplus of the world's energy supplies, they have enormous manpower, a large amount of tanks for conventional EU warfare, and nuclear weapons. The only way to crack them is in the navy.
What can the EU do with the bear next door, thats like telling the bear to stop taking a dump near your house but the bear retaliates by eating your face.
Russia will NEVER attack USA without provocation, in MW2's case, a ranger/CIA agent murders innocent civilians on a sancitoned mission by USA which is basically an assassination attempt to the political public face. This makes millions/billions? angryt at USA ans launch an amazingly effective airborne attack. And lest we forget in the MW2 world, everyone hates the Americans.

Wait, are we sure thats only in the MW2 world?
Well the thing is, Russia probably would make sure there are no sanctions against them since their in the security council. But EU is strong enough to take them on, they would have the support of NATO and the US. Besides, China would certainly want to join in should something like this happen since they could take the resources in Siberia. My point is, the world wouldn't just sit by and watch, they would try to do something about it, but not get anything done since their powerless.
True true, but think on this. Where can the USA troops land if the EU fell to the Russians? The amount of ground forces the Russians have compared to the NATO forces is preposterous. The amount of tanks, sure can be slowly whittled down, but it would seriously hamper supply lines that can be bombed by air strikes from their lancers.
Meh i agree Never played it.. but stand behind a wall And your health is back Wow! stupid unrealistic shootah I prefer ArmA 2 nd ArmA armed assault over anything CoD has to offer.. never seen so much noobness in a game since yeah they started with the series
Yey Planning on going back to the RoS With a leash and collar arround Mah Neck yey. And Will be Active in GRN and EFL... [Once i start playing again]

Read Red Storm Rising mate:)
EU won't fall to Russia in 3 days. Once they get their butts to Germany it'll become a stalemate. Its 1 (very big and powerful) country against a continent. A continent in which 2 of the countries also have nuclear weapons. The American's could always send in paratroopers first including Rangers and such. After about a month the americans will get their with their first large amount of reinforcements.
Which reminds me.
Why are we debating this? It was originally about the rest of the world not condemning Russia for genocide, which would happen in the real world.
No one big country goes and kills the other big country so openly. Every politician, even a 5th grade one would know of it.
Because wars are two sided and today's warfare would cause massive loss of resources even for the attacker.
Therefore, in reality, if such a terror act happened like the one in game, a "similar" act would've been done to give the same impression that "we can do it as well" kinda.
Yes, killing civilians and all that stuff is very bad and dark for people like you and me however its a statistical number for a leadership.
It is why that game's story fails. And it actually shows the American's not as bad guys but wrongly framed guys, it shows one particular guy bad who has some power.
Its a different thing. Actually that was as disturbing as seeing that epic fail story. Showing one side as good other one as bad or unknown is lame and disturbing in "political flavoured" games/movies. However, I wouldn't expect anything else from Infinity Ward, especially after I saw the "Special Thanks to US Army" line at the credits.
American people -> Don't get this wrong, I am criticising the game. Not someone else's patriotism or favorism. Game is not only sold in US and its rather a cheap propaganda. If you will do it, at least do it with style is what I always believe.

Well the thing is that if a war that big broke out, it would turn into a total war, which these large countries have the capability to do so since stirring up public support isn't that hard when you're in a war like that, even if the cassus belli is working against you.
I never noticed the "Special Thanks to US Army", I guess that explains. But on a personal level, the story was good, especially the betrayal and killing the general as well. The overall plot was still lame though.
