But for normal people it could be nice, also if it could be macroed it could be masked by RP commands, like you would create prototype and then just type in chat "Helm hard to port." and ship makes 90 degree to port at its maximum turning speed.
I like the idea for turning your ship while in turret view, as far as combat goes. That'd greatly improve capship capability (for anything larger than a destroyer, at least). The problem is, turret view is not always used for combat purposes, a lot of times someone simply wants to take a screenshot of their own ship, in which case having your ship turn when you go into turret view would make things very difficult.
I understand the purpose it would have, wouldn't you like to float around and engage in some RP while not having to pilot your vessel while too NOT being static so where noobs can crash into your ship leaving you with a terrible headache as you remember the rules and that you can't kill the noobs so in stead you give a nice gesture of "HEY DON"T RAM MY SHIP" To where they go "LOL SORRY" and futher grow your headache as you see "///STOP OCCING AND RP LULWUT" and again your headache grows. And the only thing stoping you from WTFPWNing everything is the fact you have this orbit command...wait...you don't so you WTFPWN everything then you get shankun'd and you rage quit cause you figure its not worth the time anymore as you figure out that you need a life, girlfriend and a job.
...I think its a good idea...but nothing that would be picked up on...sorry chap
Well, /orbit seems to be pretty useless to me. I mean in RP it would be great for a liner to orbit a planet but thinking of Manhattan it's pretty bad. There are too much unlawfuls and they would love to wait for a ship coming to the back (seen from the docking rings) and just blow that ship to hell.
Like it's said before, if you wanna orbit a planet just do it yourself or put your ship in a stationary orbit to a planet.

I believe you can map the turn left and right keys and use them in turret mode.
