Can I just say, The Phantoms don't really want the Huntress, thank you ... In fact its been a while since we
discussed faction specific ships within our ranks, and we came to no answers then.
We have been lucky to have a reasonable choice available to us, and to be honest, why draw attention to
yourself flying unique ships, when that is not in our story yet. There are one or two out there that were aimed
in our direction, but the whole world and his dog use them now.
There are three sold on The Revenant, and one or two others are used, but thats the limit of our ships. Self
policed and with no need to 'equip to win'.
Then again if one turns up for us to use, how could we turn it down Igiss ?

I personally don't see the Phantoms flying a Huntress at all. They fight in hit and run attacks, not big fleet engagements. A Cruiser the agility of a battleship wouldn't work very ewll for them, especially when it has to have the enemy in front of it to do any damage to it. (Only 3 turrets fire backwards.) Plus, it just doesn't fit with the Osiris and Raven's Talon that they use.

dab on huntress only 2 canons fire backward.i fly with huntress and has too big wings. when i will fly to theta or unkown from gamma i need 10-15 minutes to reach jumphole. with outcast/red hessians crusier is no problem to fly in asteroids.and red hessians crusier can fire backwards with 6 guns and outcast too i think.
personally, i don t like any of those star wars / star trek / battlestar - etc designs in FL. they don t fit in.
especially the size doesn t fit. look at the whale. its supposed to carry numerous containers under its shell - and when you look at it from below, you can see them all very detailed. - but compare them to the containers that the train pulls. - so it appear the whale is rather carrying boxes than containers.
the battlestar of the tv-show is a huge city floating in space (sort of) - in FL its smaller than a kusari battleship. but on a kusari battleship i can clearly see that it has something like 10 levels. i can see its windows and emergency doors. on the battlestar - well , windows are only tiny dots. so it does look shrinked down. (same with the zoner juggernaut) no question - both ships are good designs - and sort of fit into a space ship game well - but would be expected to be at LEAST 10 times ilarger - if not more.
off of all the tv- shows that have designs that fit sizewise to FL - there are only 2 coming to my mind:
- space 2160
- starship troopers (err - the movie with that stupid humans vs. bugs plot and the bad actors)
that concern is only about cap ships - fighters are mostly OK in the game.
Yeah. I agree with Jinx. Most Non-FL ships are mis-scaled. Take a look at the Outcast Destroyer and the Liberty Carrier. Those hangars are way too small to fit anything in them. And if I'm not mistaken, the Liberty Carrier's model is from some Star Wars Battlefront game where it is much, much larger.
Of course, you can't have humongous ships in Freelancer due to the problems with docking and asteroid fields, but you'd be better off not having those ingame and instead using models made from scratch for Freelancer.
It's not exactly a big problem, but it does seem a bit tacky to have a fighter 3 or 4 times the size of the hangar.

About fighters and hangars. Do you have a problem with ordinary Freelancer bases that have rooms much larger that the bases themselves from the outside? Or maybe with suns scaled down 1 million, planets scaled down 1 thousand to fit into the game? It is a simulation, not real life, and sizes cannot correspond to real world sizes.
I already said that no ship models will be removed from this mod. If you are going to discuss this more... well, you are welcome.
Ok, Igiss, you dont wanna get rid of the old ships, so heres a solution; Replace the old ships with the new, BUT Use the old ships as "Outsider" ships. Like maybe a new faction can be made called "Forgiegn" Or something like that, and have them restricted to just the Outsider ships, or somehting like that.
So, the old Hacker Spyglass, IE, will be re-named to what ever ye want it to be, so as that you dont lose your work on it, and there can be a new spyglass. The old one will get a new name, and outsider factions (Such as the Mandalorian Mercenaries) can have a rough shiplist.
This is an exceptionally good idea when Dab's getting a dockable Spyglass prepared for Vespucci system. And that will definitely be the old model. Now, try to rename it without losing sense of logic.
