I also wonder what I'm doing as a pirate pack-hunting the military and possibly calling down a systematic sweep for pirate bases all through the house, since doing this might suddenly make it enough of a problem that it might be worth the men and resources to the government to clean Liberty up. The Rogues will love me for this.
Seriously, while I'm all for entertaining ideas that might change things, this proposal really doesn't have any favorable long-term conclusions to it.
Seems Rudo might have spies somewhere.......

yea if pierats were really that strong in "reality" there is no way the liberty navy would stand for it, i mean a "Liberty cruiser being hunted in liberty" this immediately doesnt reflect reality, that cruiser (in Reality) would have atleast 4 gunboats and 3 wings of fighters with it at all times.
pirates dont hunt the navy in reality, youve got your parties mixed up, if the pirates were powerful enough in reality to hunt a fully armed naval cruiser and win, the pirates would soon find themselves very exstinct, you won the battle yaay blue msg, but you lost the war.. oshi i made all of my fellow pierats get lolwtfpwn'd by the navy.
That's just the thing: MOORING points. In-RP, that ship is just connected to the station, not inside it.
Docking with it is just a game mechanic.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
I kinda have this issue in the Sigmas but I don't want to lose the mooring points. Hasn't happened these days as often as the past but I prefer to direct all visiting warships to dock with Aomori instead of Naha or Ogashawa. In RP Aomori is far better equipped to handle the influx from a battleship crew while the mining stations aren't. I also prefer to think that we would rather keep those mooring points on the mining stations avaialable for the commercial ships to use. This situation had reoccured very recently when the friendly captain of a Mako was hovering near Ogashawa requesting permission to moor. I redirected him to Aomori for a proper bite to eat. I like the option of being able to RP traffic control.

You may be looking for realism, but game mechanics beat realism. At that point you use your imagination.
In the game big ships should be able to dock on space stations, rp wise that means the ship gets connected to the station no matter how small the base is, it can extend its shields to that ship. I mean if cannon worked for a couple of years so you could see the ships docked on the base though game engine wise it is inside, what issue of you trying to kill it would it solve?
Besides,if future is like this, I am sure if a neutral base allows you to dock, it will protect its reputation by extending its shields to you.
Here is a solution, email Baba Billy gates and ask him to release the source code so we can all make our dreams a reality and cannon dies of exhaustion.
