' Wrote:Dont use your Angels ships as personal go anywhere ships. Unless you are working with a newbie, you all should be in Penn and New York. I always find it a bit weird to find Angels in Theta or Gallia taking part in rp there. Angels exist outside of rp and should stay that way.
If you see an Angel using their ship as a "personal go anywhere ship" and not in transit between hotspots, please take relevant screenshots and pass them onto Alley or myself. Angels will mostly be in New York or Penn but I have wanted them in other places such as Gamma, Alpha and other such places where newbies tend to gather.
' Wrote:I honestly think that Angels spending time in some "hot spots" like Dublin or Tau 23 can be only good thing. There are also some other places, but these two systems can give people some serious headache.
Well at the moment we are trying to send Angels to hot spots as this has been suggested to me by various people and I think it is a rather good idea to have Angel actively assigned to places.
' Wrote:No, my concern was much more about Angel ships actively taking part in RP while there are no newbies around, Like when an Angel is trying "mediate" between the Bounty Hunters, Order and Corsairs, or when an Angel heads up to Gallia to play chase around with the GRN. Although, in all my time in Gamma, I have never seen an angel helping the newb Corsairs.
Edit: On a different note, I would be interested to know the status of the Angels bank accounts, and what that money is used for.
If it was actively RP'ing please take screenshots and again, send them to myself or Alley. And Angels are a frequent visitor to Gamma as, no offence to the Corsairs, it has a high concentration of people who need the Angel's help. n00bl3t answered about the status of our banks I believe.
' Wrote:Funny you say that 'cus I heard [Angel]-Luis deal with a guy over system chat in New York, in // sentences a couple of days ago. In fact I even PM:ed him that it was a incredibly stupid way to deal with the problem as it sends the wrong signals to everyone else not aware of OOC in system chat.
If I remember correctly the guy in question he was talking to had apparently used swearwords in system chat. Yeah, we all know that ain't okay. But that doesn't mean the Angel needs to go and lecture him over system chat and in OOC.
No, I don't have screenshots as I'm not taking them specifically to come here and whine, but now that you mention this method of helping people via PM, I felt the need to comment.
This is currently being dealt with and would be a lot easier if Skype was working.

That incident I described was just a one-time thing I spotted.
Edit: Sent you the relevant chat-log.
Thank you for the kudos, Sina. Also the chat log was received and as I said above it is being dealt with.
Thank you for all of your feedback, keep it coming.

Honestly, I think that you guys could be doing more in areas other than the general starting areas. You have no idea how many Miner/OC/Sair restarts just end up wandering around without guidance. It'd really help, if you had a few more dedicated guys out there.
' Wrote:Shadow is the only Angel who bothers trying to fix the troubled areas up in the Omicrons, and that's the only damned feedback you'll get from me.
Join the Angels for a week, you'll understand why we never have the time to travel to the omicrons.
It's damn easy to criticize our work when you have no idea of how it's going on on our side.
As I said previously somewhere, we also expect Official Factions to do their part on this subject.
Officialty also comes with responsabilities. If everyone did it we'd have time to travel around and help people somewhere else than having to be docked on a base and try to reply to the massive number of PMs and try to follow the 6 different issues and not mixing them up.

Bit delayed, but Josh has not responded, so I will.
Earlier in this thread, we got criticised for having Angels in "problem" areas, as opposed to the starting systems. Rather funny, to say the least. Now we get criticised for not having more Angels spread out and away from starting systems. I would recommend colluding and coming up with a viewpoint and then expressing it, because this just appears to be a mess. Two directly opposite views, with each other being the solution. (For the record, we have achieved a balance between the two, but I will move one to Dublin now anyway, since I do not fancy being in Omicron Gamma, and others have Omicron Alpha covered.)
I am guessing Jameson wants more in Omicron Alpha and Twisp wants more in Omicron Alpha as well, Dublin and Omicron Gamma. I will pass on the message.
Guess a bit late to join the discussion about where the Angels should operate more. I think Dublin/Tau-23 are in much more need of help than New York/Pennsylvania. And for a fairly simple reason: New York is filled with players, and amongst those, many experienced ones who eventually see the errors and try to correct them.
Well, in Tau-23 isn't the same (this is valid for Dublin as well, of course). There's 3 categories of people:
1. Miners who are working hard to get their CAP8 Battleship of some kind, who have no idea what roleplay is, nor what local chat and so on. All they do is either F1 at the first sign of danger, pay the requested sum, if reasonable, or go "kill me, I don't care, I'll get my miner in another system".
2. Miners who already have a CAP8 Battleship, who now go around to pirate the other miners, or join up with some other 3 Battleships and go attack some poor fighter/bomber/gunboat (happened to me, I'm sure it happened to many, many of you). Again, no idea what roleplay or server rules are, they use the usual line, in system chat 'cuz they haven't learned about local as yet, "Engaging hostile".
3. The ones who bother me the most. Official factions members, who work with said miners/battleship owners, yet they do nothing to help. They just go on with their lives/games, simply not caring.
So, here I'm simply reviving what Aerelm said, these areas need help, and lots of it. As much as it pains me to say, I don't want to offend anyone, MNS indies are MUCH, MUCH worse than LNS ones. Why? Apparently, the Angels or, better, the fact that they aren't there, but it isn't that, it's the overall environment.
Back to the Angels, you're doing a great job. Great kudos for that, we do appreciate your work.
Dublin is complicated, the only times we go there it's when there's an admin around. When they get beamed 500k from the sun, they begin to listen, sometimes.
