Lots of RP opportunities. I mean, come on, just sitting around shooting rocks gives you lots of time to chat with other miners, Keepers, escorts, etc. Trading lets you do that with... well if you're lucky an escort, or a fellow trader who happens to take the same route.
I would have to buy some cheap, low-cargo transport (Heron?) and start TRADING with that thing, since I only have enough cash at the moment for a LH GS (which I wanted to buy).
I bought my Bretonia BS to help defend Dublin against Corsair raids:(
Now that nobody mines in Dublin, Corsairs wont attack which means I cant do anything with my BS:(Kusari rarely attacks too
Agreed. I'd lose the ability to trade unhindered on non-mining routes, but it's not really a loss. More interactions!
Though, by association, Gateway would lose most of what little activity our two main trade partners had; IMG and ALG. Not that their bases won't still sell us stuff.
My miner (who wouldn't have much purpose now)
De Barge (which was purchased to act as an INRP storage facility)
Granted, DeBarge could be used for other RP activities, it was just that it was purchased specifically for our mining operation in Omicron Delta.
And that's about it - I'm not heavily invested in mining anymore. My pirate could switch to going after OTHER cargos besides precious metals - his tax is always cargo, anyway, and never credits.
