I have a bit of a problem with the frontpage. I can only see the 4.85 download and not 4.86. It's been like that for ages but people keep talking about 4.86 so is there something wrong with my browser?

.86 hasn't been released yet.
As for the OP...not many changes, to be honest. Hopefully, the players will be allowed to something of their own.

The problem is also that giving a free hand, is not always the best choice becouse people tend to make silly decisions. Im talking becouse my experience in the Volksfront. The inactivity problem is making us to change everything just to be more attractive and from what I see that bundschuh are still not stated what they are, the problem remains and I seriously dont know where should I make the faction heading to...
Yeah, well. We were all looking for 4.86 to change the lore, since I personally always thought that devs decide what happens in most events and not player actions. That will change now, though. Hopefully the next update will also take less time and will reflect that adequately.
Where should the military and economic power come from to mess with a house (Rheinland) including its legal forces RM, RFP and BDM and the 3 big commerical mining faction ALG Daumann and Kruger, lesser shurly Republican Shipping, and mess at the same time with the mightiest unlaweful of all, the Corsair and the deadliest of all The Wild.
In my complete FL-time i saw one single hessian hegemon, once!! Single cruisers i saw 4-5 times, usualy in company with 1-2 fighters or bombers. Else only smal Fighter/Bomber groups up to 5 vessels but most common 1-2 Fighter/Bomber or even only a Pirat Transport highout. It is already a joke to think of a serious attempt to openly confront only parts of the RM or Corsair CAP-fleet but three (including The Wild) in an three-front war?
And when it would come to an hessian attempt to take over Dresden, that way cutting of BHG`s Home Omega 15 and 56 from house space and any direct access, the hessians would come to face the fourth mayor faction for shure...
Logical development can therefor only be that they get crushed, lose sectors and get thrown back into a core area or alternativly they develop some magical superpower that exeeds even the nomad imagination and then take over hole sirius.
The Rheinland plot makes not much sense to me:
Any (not totaly mad) House would naturaly set highest priority on securing and capturing material resources (compare "war for oil"). It would logicaly try to push Hessians out of Dresden and Omega 11 atleast and IMG out of Omega 7 (all on highest priority) and in long term try to snatch Omega 3 form Bretonia.
The conflict with Liberty seems to be mainly about empty space with some minor "strategic" value. Both goals (Rheinland takes Texas, Liberty takes Bremen) are plain unthinkable, because both will put the invader 2 minutes away from the respectivly opposite houses main capital Planet.
Its no surprise that you dont understand the Hessian plot since you know little about the organization itself.
The Red Hessians are one of the largest organizations in Sirius. The Hessians are fighting on two fronts (three if you count the Wilde), one being the Corsairs and the second being the Rheinland government. And, they have been doing quite well on both fronts.
Now, in your post filled with sarcasm, its clear to me that you know little of Hessian lore, so I dont know what qualifies you to trash talk it. The Hessians are (failed) miners after all. Most of the income they get is through Blood Diamond trade and "donations" that are collected from miners/traders throughout the Omega systems and Rheinland space. Adding to that, the Hessians also have several mining operations going on, not to mention their own production of capital ships. The resources for this, as mentioned before, come from multiple sides.
The Hessians also have a strong ally in the SCRA (so far). Taking over large installations in Dresden is quite doable with the help of their supporters and allies of course, since the Rheinland Military presence in that systems is somewhat depleted. The crippling of the Rheinland Military in the Omega systems is not rare either, since the asteroid fields and gas clouds provide a significant advantage to the Hessians in that conflict. Though, the Omega systems are still a bigger battleground between the Hessians and the Rheinland Military since the unlawful presence is more firm within Dresden (even with the Altenburg present in that system).
In your complete FL time (which is not big I might add), you obviously failed, or perhaps even refused to understand anything about the Hessians, which is fairly obvious.
@OP:
I must say that I dont know how to feel about the situation with the Corsairs in Omega 47 (regarding the Hessians). Letting Casablanca be recaptured by the Corsairs could be quite a blow, but establishing another base in the system at the same time could maybe prove to be even more rewarding (depending on where its gonna be located).
I guess Dresden would be still set as a priority, even with the loss of Casablanca, which I still see as a major change/loss. Though, again, I am a bit surprised by this move. It reflects the feeling that the Hessian-Corsair war in Omega 47 is going into the Corsair favor, which wasnt really the case so far.
I was hoping to see the reflection of ingame RP over O-11, with Daumanns first paying Hessians for ceasefire then wirthdrawing from it altogether. Oh well, high hopes were too high.

I would have to agree. Was hoping for the system to be renamed to Omega Igor.
