' Wrote:[color=#FFFFFF]Impeccable logic...since when RP-ing and contributing to the what is supposed to be a "Role-playing Community" is considered attention whoring?
I'm sorry, I didn't mean the put it that way. It just the owners of characters I would like to read about are more busy roleplaying in space than writing biographies on wiki.
Edit: I'm being stupid here, it's really a bed time.

Well, since my profile is up there, i will tell you why i did take the time to write everything i did.
Basically, assuming my contributions to disco are in vain, i want my character to be the flag planted in this community, and my contributions to the wiki to stand as a monument, saying "yes, i was here, i did things - this was my character - he existed."
Otherwise, its just forgotten lines of code in a game server.
so yeah - just wanted to say that - not offended at all, honest.
Oh Sei... Where to begin with her. I would call her 100% typical GC. Being from Kusari-born parents and raised 100% traditionally Kusari, it's no surprise she's pissed about the way Feudal Jap... Kusari treats women's "role". God has she evolved since my first GC application. Delving a bit into her past, thanks to Rouge, Sei had a short stint with the rogues just after getting the hell off of Denver and away from her misogynistic Samura-rep father. She sort of wound up being forced to leave Liberty after emptying a clip into a rogue who tried to, er, force himself on her. That was when she was 19.
She's been a Samura-hating GC ever since, enjoying the hell out of Bretonia and her favorites (based from in-game interactions) the Privateers. I was also given an in-rp gift from two very kind Privateers of two corgi puppies, which I RP to this day as having aboard my Hachiman.
I mean, after establishing a typical character to join a particular faction... they sort of just evolve sometimes.
Other times, like my Gateway trader, you have a clear image of them in your mind and it just works. He's sort of a stereotype as well - past retirement age kind old man who refuses to give up his job and keeps on going.
My KSP is one of my most boring. Younger guy 24 with a new wife just wanting to get by, trying to act the part of a much older person and trying to keep his cool under the quickly risen ranks.
[color=#FFFFFF]Well that's one of my main characters. I'm trying to build a believable personality not some superhero-type character. A normal human being that makes mistakes and sometimes falls...

So I used to be this poor guy pirating in Kyushu/New Tokyo/Honshu. And I was just a real plain ol 2-4 mil or die kinda guy....
Then one day a Trader tried to RP with me and asked "Sir, what is this money going to and why do I owe it to you?"
So I had to think quick, and i just blurted out "Cause I'm King Rorry! And you have yet to pay me your taxes." And after that it stuck, and I started to create a delusional character, moved him to sig 13 for a spell.
Then one day two Corsari GBs came and tried to pirate me, so I told em I was half Corsair. And I think you know the rest....
I get inspiration for my RP characters from people who I know in real life, from TV (although I avoid to bring names and concrete references from existing movie chars, I some times take their personalities), and also a bit from what I saw other people here RPing.
One thing all my chars have in common is this: I dont take them seriously, and I do my best to RP in a way that others dotn take my chars 100% seriously either.
Reason for it is, for one, that I looked at people here who take their characters seriously, very seriously, too seriously. And those people (no names) totally creep me out. The best RP I witnessed from other people, was, in my opinion, also from people who didnt take their own chars seriously.
' Wrote:My Order agent is 'lawful good', he believes in honour, justice and has made an oath to serve The Order to protect humanity, which he would rather die than betray. He would rather not fight or kill any humans, but will defend his allies or follow any and all lawful orders. He believes in sacrifice for the greater good and gave up a chance at a normal life, friendships or love for the two years he spent on covert operations.
My Order char differs very much from yours. "Honor", "oath", "lawful", "good" are words tha mean absolutely nothing to my order char. The aim is to keep humans the dominant species, in a very "survival of the fittest darwinist" way. This sometimes got me into conflict with players how thought I was trying to RP someone who is "good".

I like this view on the Order, this is how the Order are played properly in Disco. Disco Order aren't heroes or protectors, they're nothing more than glorified supremacists.
My Wild character, Amy Masako, has lived as long as some of the Outcast Elders, but she never aged, she just saw the world pass her by. Where most Wild characters are bitter and cruel, Amy is honourable and kind.
She willingly accepted infection, and embraced the Nomads, with a child-like fascination for them.
My longest running, active character, since August of 2009, I just love playing a character who is naturally boycotted because of people's fear of her, and is much more humane than the people that devote their lives to hunting her.

I find this good and evil thing between the nomads and the order a bit meh'ish. No one should ever say about himself that he is evil. One will always find himself the good side and the other the evil side. You always blame Order for playing the heroes and glorifying themselves. Yet you do the same with the Nomads.
My Order char is a scary bitch who sees things as torture and killing as necessary in order to guarantee safety for humanity. She does a good things she believes.

Why thank you, Akura. I like your Wild RP too. I hope you get back to it and got over taht silly gun dispute xD.
Since you said the word "glorified", you reminded me of something that I wanted to say for a long time.
A lot of Order people seem to be on a quest for glory.
Order used to be/ is a secret organization.
Quest for glory and and that dont go together, imho.

Well, the thing is, Amy is a good person at heart, but she knows she must do bad things, or else be wiped out, and she dislikes the Order's view that they're the victims. She doesn't see them as evil, like they see her, she just sees them as fearful and ignorant.
The reason for the continued conflict, in her eyes, is down to humanity, the Nomads are on the defensive.
