It isnt bad as an idea for capital ships since they cant maneuver that well and shoot at the same time but imagine someone in a fighter shield running around you in thruster shooting constantly and spaming mines + cds,thruster alone can easily be countered with reverse thrust but when you add mines and cds or even worse a razor,you just have no way of dodging everything even if you dodge constantly and as for the hit ratio going down,thats when zoom can kick in and guess what it goes up again and if the person uses heavy codes like Claymore or Archangel then even one hit hurts
as for gunboats i do not really mind...infact the people ive met that can fly a gunboat well can be counted on no more than 2 hands and are the first targets of Inferno-carrying fighters so it wont matter that much
the only semi-working way to fight this is jousting since it doesent give the opportunity to run around shooting...though it still doesent change the need to dodge absolutely every shot on the aproach,outturning is almost out of the question....in short fighting using it becomes shoot while shield running....atleast before you couldnt shoot when shield running.....

There is [KNF-T] GB (don't remember name) with razor/pulse setup pwning BAF fighters hardly...
There are 1 or 2 decent Hydras (don't remember names) within =CR ranks.
And thats just those whom i fought with.

Tridente is rather OP. And, it seems you are confusing player skill with ship capabilities..
The turret steering (turret zoom is another thing) is working nicely, and i do hope we will get it.

We are all good to imagine situations. The point is, the situation you are describing are almost impossible to do. Unless you can bring us a real example, perhaps a video, of someone using turret steering and destroying everything they see.
the situations i describe are ones that have already happened,and you say they are hard to do?? excuse me but there are no hard to do situations in fighter combat since equipment aint that expensive unlike the equipment for capital ships...if you had said that capital ship situations are hard to do then id agree,and when it comes to the population of capital ships on the server and it being 10% as it was said before thats A LOT when you take into account that i alone have 8 fighters,i know of people who actually have 8 accounts full of fighters and no dreads and there are people with more than 1 dread per acc....so you should check how likely a situation actually is....as for player skill i can guarantee that neither me or sava are confusing it since ive seen how he fights and for the record 2-3 fighters are enough to handle a gunboat at the moment....which shouldnt be so in my opinion atleast,which is why im not saying for it not to be implemented at all,just hold it back from bombers and fighters....cuz quiet frankly i dont like seeing 90 degrees SNACs either.....

Now you are mixing the price of the equipment of the ship using turret steering and what i was saying before, the fact that turret steering just doesn't fit with fighters and bombers, and it's not going to buff them in any way.
SNACs, Mini razors, Infernos, they can all being fired forward, not backwards. Which means that 90 degrees SNACs or similar equipment won't be possible. I would like to remind you, more over, that all fighters (if i remember well?) can fire only one turret backwards. Surely, even if he was able to aim that fast to shoot and turn at the same time with the turret steering, thing that, i assure you, is not that easy for me, you woudn't really hurt the enemy ship with one debilitator, or a hullbuster (codenames are out of discussion, since they are class 10, and can't be mounted on turrets).
And if all this still doesn't convince you, you can also try to listen to the developers who posted here already, and that are speaking by experience of their testing sessions.

here are 2 videos with the modes on and off then+it is now still possible to fire infernos and such forwards like you said and fire them at 90 degrees using regular turret view,i know cuz people have done it on me but enough of this,here are the vids

the one where it is on at first shows the BAF using it for the first time in a pvp id guess,the second part of that vid however shows the Ministry guy using it-not for the first time against regular steering and you can see how unlike in the first vid where they are both in regular steering and the BAF wins hands down,in the second vid theres hardly a lot he can do

1) In the first video the Sabre doesn't seems to dodge either.
2) In the second video the Eagle is under fire from level 19 NPCs, which deals damage.
You are proving nothing while claiming everything.
You don't have to take my words as facts, you have, however, to take the words of developers as more qualified than mine or yours about it.
