No way Jose, DirectX's DirectCompute poops all over OpenGL.:P

Correctly incorrect. I tried EVE Online a few times and all I could think of was how the game lacked story lines, RP and overall game play. This new engine may be a threat to EVE...since it will be free after all:P

and what about hardware required?

Would it run smooth on my 1.6 GHz , nVidia ION netbook like current lancer?

I can't make any statements on minimum required hardware just yet.

The engine is being designed and tested on my home computer, i7 4.2GHz 12GB DDR...so it will be up to the community's own testing to see how it performs on your end and some options may become available to "dumb down the game" to be playable.

Thats a way overpowered machine. Im only running a C2Q with 8gb DDR2....D;

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.
