I think something to make people get less capital ships would be a weird radical stunt. Lets just think about the following thing:
Bombers/fighters..bombers are these days in my opinion the new fighters...only thing that they lack are faster weapons. Isnt the technoligy that far yet in sirius that bombers can use the weapons that fighters use? I understand the consequences: The bomber and fighter class would be merged into one class. Sounds overpowered, but admit: Most people are capital ships. A few fighters perhaps but as bomber you dont fight a fighter. This idea is radical, but maybe even an very fun idea! smile.gif Atleast it sounds fun in my head. Cause people will be less liked to buy an capital ship then.

I hope this post brought people on ideas, or that I brought a good meeting-discussion point.

A couple of years ago, there weren't bomber guns. Bombers used to mount fighter guns, and it was changed, because a bomber could fire those guns unlimited.

Everything works fine, except the EMP torp and Hellfire ammo
I suggest having bombers able to carry 240 missiles. Only then they can fight fighters, or deal real damage with Hellfire.

Looking for Brain Upgrade Mk II or better

Hellfire pod vs transports and gunboats (the medium sized targets it's intended for): Works like a charm. Runs out of ammo quickly, but does a crapload of damage in the process. Once ammo becomes more available to this weapon, it's probably going to become a must-have for bombers. Enter combat - do damage - return to base for rearm actually becomes a tactic that way... I can see this becoming interesting once carrier docking becomes available. Quad rocketpod, pointblank with a cruiser, one or two bombing runs... then withdraw and rearm.

Nova vs heavies: As long as those aren't flakked away. The issue with them not being able to do hulldamage to certain caps is being addressed.

EMP torpedo: Not enough range and not enough damage. The SNAC is a better tool for dealing with gunboats.

Love the Novas and Hellfires.

EMP torp just doesn't do enough shield damage to be worthwhile. Both the SNAC and Nova torp do more shield damage than a supposedly specialised anti shield torp. Personally I'd mount a SNAC every time.

Why doesn't Nova do splash damage on other caps when exploded?
Balance reasons?
(although bs's cramped together like 1ms for example, only 1 gets damaged)

This is more like reality:

Bombers vs GB:

1 Bomber can take out a GB and lose a few bots, 2 take it down without damage.

SNACs and TCDs, Energy/EMP Cannons.


Since the Gunboat shield got a tiny little nerf, it's made already easy bomber vs GB pvp even easier.
