I do like the idea of corsair raids again. Gives us all something to do... I just think someone could have contacted us about intentions to start a prolonged military struggle in orbit of cambridge. I'm assuming you'll be back, so I'm taking measures. Thanks for the heads up about it, really.
Because, It's good military strategy to tell the enemy where you're attacking and when. For scheduled events (see RoS/TBH in Eta on fridays) it's fine, for ad hoc attacks like this? not so much.
Of course any military action can be justifiied. My problem is not with the strategy of a military raid. My problem lies with the potential of such a spontaneous and disproportionately sized raid to kill off RP in Bretonia.
I guess Juni and Mariko didn't notice that. Mariko is getting in shape again!
Of course you saw us training there, and trying to get in shape. Not playing for a long time has meant that I am not in shape at all. Certainly not one of the best right now, anyway.
In fact, the root reason why you saw me training there is because... I died to that lot of Corsairs. Sad, but true for me. So thats my wake up call for the need to shift in gear again.
As for Corsair raids, I have been waiting for them to happen for a long time. Since life is starting to flow back into Bretonia, now is as good a time as any to restart the conflict.
If the Corsairs choose to attack with a few capitals, but an overall well balanced fleet, then that is their choice. I do not see why they need to change their fleet composition because they will be facing only Hussars. Police aren't supposed to be on the front line in any military action, and the proof of the pudding is that Cambridge was caught off guard. Neither the military nor any other form of backup was in the area, and those that did arrive to fight arrived in drips and drabs.
However, the OPG should have made it crystal clear to everyone that wasn't clear on the subject, that what they did was a military action. The purses of traders would still have to be made lighter, as the rules dictate so. If this isn't the case, then I can forsee something bad on the horizon. To other non-trader vessels, I really don't see the problem.
Well, you were flying that RM bomber pretty damn good still.
When the OPG guy SN-ed you, you were just sitting still.. I thought it was lag or something, because it was dodging like mad all the time, and then just sitting still right next to a cruiser.
As for the raids, I think they are very positive.
And Sonja is right. If BPA can't handle it, forum is not a place to ask the corsairs to bring lesser crafts (though they maybe should) but to call the army.
UOG gets something to do, Corsairs move from every-day sitting near Crete, QCO and BPA get something real to do.
So, what's wrong here?
We heard so many calls for help to raise activity in Brettonia.
Well, here it is. Maybe it's not perfect, but it still caused some attention, didn't it?
As for the reasons, Corsairs don't exactly need to explain their Military reasons..
They fought a war with the Rheinland after all.. Do you think they needed a reason for that, except their greedy nature?
I just wouldn't like this to become a 'Sirius wide battlefield' with all sorts of factions.
UOG is perfectly ok, Gaians are perfectly ok (NLH resurrection!) but that's it.
If I see RoS or NovaPG there it won't be as nice.
Unselie also has a point. You should have made it clear on the forum before making such an action.
So they could prepare their defenses. Though in RP this was an excellent sudden strike, and unexpected as well.
So I don't mind it too much.
We now need some Corsairs to fight the Hessians in Omega's as well.
If they do that, it will be great not only for them and the RHA, but whole community.
Excellent fight over there.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.

Exactly!!!!
BPA is not there to protect Bretonia against everything... it should actually run when faced with military-style attack. And I say no to BPA getting any bombers.. except maybe 1-2 with only mini-razors (*points at LPI*)

@Eppy.. don't worry.... soon hordes of independent Outcasts will be whoring the Tridente (:P) everywhere.....just like the Outcast destroyer.
As somebody said... many independents will literally jump the ship.

@EDIT:@Sonja.. I took my annoying LF there:P... too bad that setup I had was crap... and I used half the fight to adjust to it. But I still kept you shield-less.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
We, BPA, lost this fight. It was only logical, Police force are definitely not equiped to fight a military invasion fleet. Understanding this, the last alive BPA finally retired when they saw how outgunned they were.
Now, it is time for the QCRF to wake up. It is a long time I haven't seen you flying around guys, except during the regular events. So I hope this new turn will just spring you back to life. For the Queen ! We should not let this bloody Corsairs get away with it.
So, all in all, I think it is a good thing for Bretonia.
Now, the only reproach I could make you Corsairs is your lack of ingame chat. I know it is still debated alot on forum, whereas ennemies should warn before attacking, or if one should chat before PvPing.
Know that we, at BPA, put a lot of effort in chating before engaging, trying to convince the others to leave Bretonia, pay the fine, whatever, well, explaining our action.
Knowing that we try to do that, that would be great you guys too take some time to RP with us, explain us, well, that you don't want to leave, are here for a special reason, or mission, or whatever you see fine. Anyhow, know that BPA will definitely not take you down while you are typing some pre-engagement chat lines. That would globally improve the RP level in Bretonia, and still leave place for great fights.
Good fight this evening by the way. Looking for some more;)

P.S: Oh, and the bounty thing was rather a way we had to fight the capships constantly entering Bretonia. As you read it, we have only LF and some rare Bombers, and the QCRF hasn't been really active lately. So when confronted to ennemies too strong to be taken down, I think it is a logical answer for a Police force to put bounties on the said ennemies.
Now, maybe we were a bit too enthusiastic, as we began puting bounty on any single ship engaging BPA;)
We could take time to discuss it inside BPA, but it might sounds more relevant to put bounties only on ship too powerful for us to take them down. i.e : [OPG]Asno, Lorenzomus,...
Well, my point of view as a not-so-old BPA member.
Unlike the LPI, we don't exactly have much to fall back on...
The QCRF is not exactly always around, and frankly, the BPA has been far more active recently. We do well in our Light fighters, but they can't exactly take on Cruisers either.
And I am not saying that the OPG cannot attack Cambridge, I am simply exploring the reason why they attacked.
EDIT:
For gunboats, the BPA has taken out plenty of them before...you should have seen one of our good ole Hussar swarms. Just ask Zelot.
