It's a shame your first experiences have been... Not so good.

My suggestion would be to leave Liberty, and go to Bretonnia or Kusari. Trade there in peace, as Liberty is haunted by terrible lawfuls and unlawfuls (sorry guys). Rheinland is plagued by the Sigma 13 trade route, which brings lots of pirates along for the party.

I have to second the recommendation for Bretonia and Kusari.

Rheinland I have nothing against, I enjoy my time there very much. But, for my work as an HGL vessel, I am brought into Liberty quite often, and I have to say that when I get into New York, I really miss the option Guild Wars has to turn off parts of the chat...

This kind of thing (yes I know it was mon'star and that makes it fine) little ships getting randomly blown up by caps, is very very annoying. A while ago I was setting up new char (a merc, check my sig for a link to the story) in a lvl 5 starflea outside manhatten and someone in a OC dessie came and blew me up. I wasn't happy about it.

If you're looking for good roleplay try joining a faction, although I always recommend freelancing in the first weeks on the server. You get to know the enviroment then, which is not so bad once you learn who will roleplay and who will not. And Xenos arent that bad really, at least XA (Xenos Alliance faction) roleplay rather well.

I didn't realise the cap ship was a terrorist tbh, I suppose that makes it kinda ok (still iffy if you ask me), Yeah I saw clouds of cargo around, but I've seen lots of people shooting up the NPC traders before so thought nothing of it, I was waiting to exchange messages and boom..

Anyhows, I would relocte to another region, but the difficulty lvl of the npc ships in the other region is whats keeping me around liberty. Tried going to Bretona earlier but the unlawful npc's there slaugter me. Havent got the funds to just make a new character, outfit with decent ship/weaps and move region (not asking for cash neither, I wanna shape my own destiny)

You know, most people who hang around Liberty might be willing to give you "pity-money" to start yourself up. Personally I got 1 mil from a generous person from [Cray], and if you'll PM me your name since I've forgotten I'll pay you back... but, if you make a show of RP people will hopefully give you startup cash.

Xenos wise the XA have no influence over the indies, however the ID is fairly contracitory to the rules. However server rules take precedence in all cases, the Xeno ID is not a Terrorist ID in the same sense that Mon'Star's or Prospector's are, it is still subject to the RP before slaughter rule. Xeno RP isn't complicated, we wnat a return to a laboru based economy in Liberty, if that involves interdicting traders then so be it. But if you're hauling empty then there's no fuss, you can sail on by. The XA will always try to spread the good word first, if you catch one that doesn't PM either Zavier, Dusty Lens or myself and we'll deal with it. If the indies aren't RPing with you, before they destroy you, then screen it and report it. Remember though that simple RP such as "Die you foreign trading scum" is just as good as a full rant about the evil's of said foreign trading.

Pretty much the impression I've gotten. I will say the most recent death I've met,yet again today, at one of those was somewhat roleplayed as my avatar was being attacked by 8 NPCs. I've yet to meet a Xeno that actually has some kinda logical reason other than this guys 'oh you are poorly equipped' speech when I was trying to get him to grasp his situation of being ill funded just the same. Should he have still killed me? Sure. Its his right in that case.

Also though. Heres a question. Since these guys run around with little or no RP enguagement what kinda of opening is actually legal against them. I'm assumnig 'Die Xeno Scum' when they are at 15% health is gunna be adequate. If not there is a serious flaw in the rules where they are pretty much granted the opening shots and no one else can be made the aggressor? Excuse me if I dont understand it correctly.

unfortunately, the navy nor the military could rply patrol the space between both space I believe (due to rather bad relationships between rheinland and Liberty), meaning well, between Texas and Hamburg... you are pretty much very very vulnerable... unless you hire an escort.
