I think perhaps instead of being allowed to Pirate inside Gallia they should be allowed to target enemies of Gallia. As currently they can only issue piracy demands(in sirius) or hunt hogosha. Also why Hogosha? Afaik Gallic Junkers have very little to do with the underworld of Gallia/black market. I can understand Hogosha not liking foreigners, but it seems strange that out of -all- the enemies that could have been picked for Gallic Junkers it was the Hogosha.
Pirating is pirating. Regardless of if it is lawful or unlawful.
Gallic Junkers being able to pirate in Gallia gives them the ability to camp 2 lanes way from sell points; pirate a transport and sell the goods to the lawful base in front of their victims. The Junker ID and Hogosha ID were both restricted to prevent that exact thing from happening.
Why on gods green earth would the admins modify two IDs to stop an activity and then allow another to do it? In role play all three of them should be able to pirate where ever, it is because of game play/balance reasons they cannot.
I was going to ask if you'd seen the Gallic Royal Police ID but that seems to have changed to no longer allow piracy.
What I'd like to know is if the Gallic Border worlds (systems we thought of as Gallia in 4.85) are included in "Gallic House space" or are those systems allowed for Junker Piracy?
As for the one comment about the STORY of the Gallic Junkers, I would love to know where to find that. The GJ were one of the factions glaringly absent from the 4.86 story updates. In 4.85 they were fully lawful, now they're not and we don't have anything concrete to go by as far as official lore.
ALL Junkers came from Gallia, including the Sirian Junkers.
The original Junkers were sent into Sirius by the Crown of Gaul to support the criminal groups by setting up a network of smuggling and stolen goods fencing, with the intent to sow discord throughout Sirius.
By doing so, they were also keeping the Great Houses busy fighting one another, and kept them weakened via their constant battles with their (well supported) local criminal groups.
Weakened, softened, and distracted - ripe for the coming invasion.
They were sent out autonomously, ordered not to make contact with Gallia until contacted.
Over the hundreds of years they were at it, the Junkers set up such a massively successful criminal network that they soon became the wealthiest peoples in all of Sirius, matched only by the (much) more 'moral' Zoners.
So entrenched managing their empire were they, that when the call from Gallia did come, they were loathe to give up their power and submit to foreign masters. (remember, Junkers were the only faction allowed free, unfettered, passage to and from Gallia in 4.85)
After much debate, a decision was made and a message sent to the Junkers of Gaul.
Led by the Junkers Congress, the Junkers of Sirius defied the Gallic Junkers orders, and broke from their former masters, vowing to aid greater Sirius in their struggles against the Crown, thus further cementing their tenuous relations with the great Houses, and gaining tighter control over the Sirius black markets.
To this day, fingers go to triggers when the two Junker families meet.
Not ready to kill on sight, quite yet, but in no way at ease in each others company.

Look at it logically, Junkers work with pirates as fences, to pirate themselves would be seen as taking profits from their allies. E:g LR would probably take a dim view of anyone pirating on their turf, as would any other pirate faction.
In Gallia, most of the Sirian traders would most likely be from Kusari, and the crown has an agreement with Kusari and therefore wouldn't be very pleased if Junkers put them in a bad light with Kusari, as t would lose them support.
Noticed something taht has only been touched on slightly. Gallic Junkers can pirate in Gallia, but not Gallic House space, those systems being recognised by admins as House space, which are the following;
From Server Rules, post 9.
When I've seen sirians on my gallic Junker I snigger and make insults at them. Only a couple times I had a GRP or a GRN nearby when breaking the law by insulting, for the most part it gets overlooked as long as the sirian isn't registered to be in Gallia.
Also, Gallic Junkers pirating gallic corps would be reasonable in the gallic systems they can pirate in. But on the basis of giving alternatives. For example, when I am in Provence I promote trade to Monte-Carlo. If I see traders not going to Monte Carlo, I make the following as the basis of my demand, "The region is seeing a high number of run away's who are struggling to live. We are operating a support facility for them at Monte-Carlo. So in the name of the King please hand over 200000 credits or die as a traitor."
A idea I have had is to pirate someone in Maine for Oil, with the demand being, "We demand you to drop your cargo to ensure that we can supply a Shipment of oil that has not been yet shipped. If you do not hand it over you will die as a traitor to the commerce of Gallia. However If you hand it over, we will escort you back to your purchase location and keep you company to your destination with your new shipment."
There are ways that a Gallic Junker could pirate, as permitted by the ID, without it looking like pureblood piracy, and parts of gallia they can pirate freely, so when seeing a sirian they can have their way with them properly as long as its the correct systems.
Very succinct, Skullz, couldn't have put it better myself.
Y'know it's funny, but the Gallic Junkers have the same twisted 'rules' about piracy in Gallia that the Hogosha had/have in Kusari.
It's the same political quagmire, to pirate or not to pirate....
...I'm sensing a pattern here...
--Phil makes an excellent point about Sirius Junkers not taking their own 'allies' paychecks by pirating.
It's worlds smarter to make a safer profit fencing the ill-gotten goods. "Leave the thuggery to the thugs." says the Junker, straightening his dinner suit.
--Also, Sirius Junkers have official contracts with the House governments to remove scrap, so getting caught pirating would jeapordize the razors edge of neutrality that Junkers walk. The one that allows them to do business, seemingly legitimately, everywhere.
BUT -- do these two points apply to Gallic Junkers though? THAT'S up to them, that Rp has not been written yet.
Why dont you Gallic Junkers show us how it is, aye? *wink*
Putting Junkers in a neat and tiny box is an act best left to those with neat and tiny minds.
The Gallic Junkers are not the LSF with janitorial duties.
The Gallic Junkers are a mess. Splash around in the mud and see what sticks to the wall. Igiss didnt have a plan for them beyond serving as a convenient and silly plot point. After that they basically fall into themselves.
