Alright then, we move the events to the Sundays. Is it better like that?
I was checking out the scenery and figured the parade (last event) could start at Alster and go all the way to Stuttgart where the hostilities would take place. Reasoning behind this is that Stuttgart is a quieter system. It's a better option than Hamburg or New Berlin (less chances of people from outside getting in the middle of it and promoting lag).
I'm not sure if the shipping events should be settled to that detail. In case we decide to, the first one could happen in Frankfurt, around the last tradelane before the JG to New Berlin. That's the Rheinland part of the event. I'm still waiting the KNF to pronounce on the matter. Frankfurt is also a lot quieter than either New Berlin or Hamburg.
Does the part stating that a percentage of the escorts must be down for the transports to be valid targets make sense to you guys? I added that so the transports don't get ganked instantly.
EDIT: Well, I'll surely take pictures from the ship I'm in during the events. If anyone is willing to act as photographer or cameraman, please do.

Makes sense to me. Though, I suggest the transports don't enter cruise after they have been intercepted. Otherwise, the pirates will have to deal with the escorts AND continually CD'ing the transports, which I imagine as a pretty hard task. Maybe the pirates set up a mine that damages the cruise engines or something...
But the Raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered--
Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before--
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before."
<blockquote>Then the bird said, "Nevermore."</blockquote>

The transports decide to stick around the escorts for fear they might be jumped by another pirate group if they stray away too far from them. That would make sense IMO, but it's up to Gronath.
About the percentage of escorts being destroyed, that makes sense as well considering the escorts will "tie up" the attackers so they can't really take potshots at the transports.

"Transports, stay close while we hold them off" -> pirates attack escorts
Makes sense to me, I'd only change that sentence to, "Transports, stay close while we finish them off." If they were to hold them off, it would be so the transports could flee.:)
Anyway, it doesn't make much sense for the transports to stray away too much, as Blodo said. Otherwise they would risk being jumped at by the next group of targets. "Best looking" scenario would be for the transports to orbit the fight while it issues.
If the pirates manage to destroy a certain amount of escorts, they'd have enough room to start attacking the transports. Then, as Wrathkin said, the transports would decide to try and make a run for it.
I think the other way around could work as well. If the pirates start falling, a group of the escorts may break away from the fight and take the transports away while the rest of the escort wing, this time yes, hold them off.
I didn't decide on the numbers because I think it will only make sense when we actually see how many people will actually participate. As an estimate, I was thinking maybe 50% to either side.
After the furball starts dissolving and the transports decide to make a run for it, everything is fair game for everyone. Everyone may cruise.
I think this sounds reasonable and fun. How does it sound to the pirates?
Well in the KNF prison liner event the transport was moving on at normal impulse speed... which made some kind of timer...
it was not really easy for the escorts and pirates to keep up with it which made it even more interesting.
When the pirates see they can't defeat the escort and take the cargo (which would be their win), they decide to destroyer the transports... which will be kind of a draw.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
What sort of ship restrictions are you looking at? I'm guessing the last thing you want is a load of gunboats and bigger to show up to the party!
This looks like a great event by the way. I've no doubt you'll be swarmed with pirates wanting to get one over on Kapitaen Krieger! If I've got the time I'd love to join in.
Well, I've had my mind more around fighters. I think they are more suited for hit and run operations than capitals. So I'd say that both sides should be restricted to fighter class ships in the shipping events.
As for the last one (the military parade), it would necessarily involve capitals, at least on the RM side (which I consider a great disadvantage to us since we're inherently fighter jockeys). It would be awesome if at least one of RM's two battleships could be involved in it, but I'm not sure the admirals will be able to make it. It would make sense. But, if they aren't around, it could be on purpose not to take the spotlights away from the new ship.
I'd say that we'd have at least the Cruiser and two gunboats (to mimic the NPC Cruiser patrols) and a bunch(?) of fighters class ships. So I'd say that for the last event we could extend the limitation for the pirates as well.
I liked the idea of having a hands around the throat fight between Krieger's and someone else's Cruisers, but as pirate tactics go, it would make more sense for them to bring something of a bomber group with fighter escorts. Don't see much tactical advantage in taking cumbersome capitals to a place infested with military ships of various kinds. As RP goes, I thought that Varyag would disregard tactics to have a go at Krieger's Cruiser because there's a known and documented grudge between him and the RM. So perhaps he would see in this event a chance to get even in style. But that's me role playing someone else's character. I just think that if there was hostile Cruiser present, his would be the cooler option.
