Quote:Cam, are you really the one talking about RP?
You try to ram/instagib Katanas in your cloaked Kusari BS while going "Aehehehahaha" in local chat.
ROFL
Got that boom ba boom boom, boom boom boom, SUPERBASS
Quote:You're not obligated to RP.
I see. Perfectly clear now...
Quote:There is this funny rule called R#0.0
It says "Be nice to eachother".
Now, refusing to talk with others on a online game, when you are without a doubt, perfectly able to understand and communicate with them can be seen as being a jerk. However it can also be seen as a "personal attack" as you will deliberately be silent towards a player that most likely will pirate you alot of times..
TL;DR
This is a "MMO", talk or quit the server.
I've never seen anyone sanctioned for 0.0 before, and im pretty sure I would be one of the first people to get sanctioned for not being 'excellent' to a bunch of internet pixels.
Il just put tin that in RP as you say it, a trader should be aloud to instantly open fire to a hostile, look at the NPC's as soon as there are hostiles on scanner they pretty much open fire.
Traders dont have to say a word before opening fire, come on, if you die by a trader opening fire then your one stink pirate. Seriously, i love rp, and when i trade any pirate i meet i try rp with, most just open fire after saying, drop all you cargo. This arguments been going on for years and will still be going on for years.
There was a complaint because your signature violated forum rule 1. Specifically:
Quote:Adult content or links to adult content; This includes any anime that is in any way slightly graphic or pornographic;
You're allowed to defend yourself. Once he says 2milrdie, he's established that he's an aggressor and is willing to kill you for your money or cargo. Defend yourself. Nothing wrong with it at all.
lol@confusing typing with RP. If you want to have a conversation come along with me on the trade route, hell I'll pay you to escort just to have some company. If you want to shoot me well you can suck plasma, I'm not going to be nice to somebody who's trying to fup my day. <--arrpee
A demand is not an engagement notice. This is directly defined in the rules as well as through numerous sanctions.
A demand gives the pirate permission to attack the target, but not to kill. To retaliate requires an engagement. The engagement requires an engagement notice or requires an attack allowed through another rule (in this case, the pirate's demand).
If you want to attack the pirate who has issued a demand, either the trader has to make the engagement notice or the pirate must attack (shields below 50%).
ib4futureignorance, edits quoting sanctions will follow
The rules don't state an engagement notice is required and they haven't for a VERY long time.
Quote:5.2 All attacks must be the result of some form of role play. "Engaging" is not sufficient. An attack is any hostile action that drains shields to less than 50%. Being hit with a CD is not considered an attack. If a player is attacked he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking.
Says 'roleplay', not engagement notice, theoretically if you were my enemy I could have a nice chat with you and out of the blue start shooting at you because my ID and diplomacy says so.
It has been specifically declared oh-so-many times that a demand does not satisfy that requirement.
EDIT: What is necessary to satisfy a demand has no bearing on what is necessary to satisfy roleplay prior to engagement. This quote has no bearing on anything featured in this thread whatsoever.
' Wrote:It has been specifically declared oh-so-many times that a demand does not satisfy that requirement.
Quote:6.6 Aggressors are not allowed to destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand, in system or local chat, and allowing sufficient time to respond. Demands may be cargo, credits or an RP demand, such as leaving the system. "Halt" is not a demand. You must say more than this to ask a ship to stop however you may destroy them if they attempt escape.
