The ship Jinx proposed is not a warship. My concern is that it have a large cargo hold and be able to take one heck of a beating. I could care less if it can blow up a cruiser.
sure Xeno's have bombers, but the LPI, Liberty Navy, & LSF have plenty of ships to counter them. the junkers should lose if they try to take on a battle hardened Xeno. that's why they "snitch" on their enemies locations. the best battle is one that's fought by others on your behalf :D
i love Jinx's ship, it's more of a transport than a warship and that's perfect.
I agree that junkers are not warriors. but what to do if xeno bombers approach near the junkers base, e.g. Rochester or Beaumont. liberty forces are not interested in the help of junkers.

Exactly! Liberty does not care if a Xeno kills a Junker we have to defend ourselves because no one else will. That is what being a Junker Guard is all about :).
What about Rogues and Outcasts in your bases ? You really think they gonna blow in your bases without even trying to get out ? And you really think they'll let xenos destroy it when there are still some of them inside ?

We are talking about players right? I have never recieved help from any outcast or rogue. I have however been bullied around and almost robbed by a few. They just use our base to unload cardi and other things. They don't care if the Xenos blow us up.

The problem with this is that junkers do not participate in large battles, and very few people are going to pay a junker to stick around and repair them all day long while they fight others.
The only enemies junkers have arent allowed to use capships themselves, so there's really no need for a fleet support ship for them. This thing would serve far better in a true salvaging/transport capacity (high cargo space) than as a repair ship.

sure the Zoners are in proximity to nomads and i guess they can justify having warships for that. the junkers however are just glorified garbage men. only two factions hate them, hogosha and xenos but that just because of proximity. the junkers choose only to defend themselves when needed or just have someone else fight for them, for example if a xeno is close they'll notify the authorities.
junkers are a very unique faction, please lets keep them that way. if you want to PVP i suggest using another faction and leave us junkers to our scrap
Zoners have warships to protect their freeports, but too many players venture away from zoner systems with them (i.e. pvp/capwhoring).
Junkers dont have many enemies, you're right on that... but that doesnt mean we cant develop dual-purpose combat ships.
The CSV is their primary ship and is clearly called a "Combat" service vehicle. They use it to fight xenos at home and hogosha on the edges of kusari space, but it's also a salvaging/scrap collecting vehicle. The collector is a larger version of that.
There's no reason the faction cant have a unique bomber and transport though. I was not asking for capships, mind you.
A bomber with a large main cannon (like a gunboat forward gun or a dual mini razor setup) would likely be used for tearing apart large peices of scrap and debris when not in combat, but would provide junkers with a ship that can take out large transports and capital ships when required. It's a dual-purpose vehicle.
Likewise with my suggestion for the transport/salvage ship - It can be used to collect large amounts of scrap and process debris fields, it can also be used to transport large amounts of commodities between bases - but if it was given 12 transport turrets and high armor like the container transport it would serve a secondary purpose as a "light capship" for junkers without actually being a capship.

Snitching is all well and good, but do you really think junkers should lose every time a xeno decides to mess with them?
Junkers are powerful, they span three of the largest houses in sirius, they have a lot of money, their own shipyards, and a lot of powerful allies. They recover a lot of high tech scrap from the debris fields as well, so they arent limited to 'junky' ships and weapons.
The xenos on the other hand are poor, they have no ships of their own or shipyards to build them in so they use civilian line ships. Why should a junker lose to that every time a xeno shows up?

The salvage... frigate... thing idea that Jinx thought of is perfect cause it focuses on what the junkers do. Hell, it's the closest thing i've seen to a science ship in this mod (which probably means that i'm going to buy it at one point ^_^)
Anyway, it's a lovely idea, and i'm looking forward to seeing it in the mod.

We have three stations and a large shipyard there, all junker guard affiliated.
BTW, hopefully the salvage frigate is only for sale on that shipyard, so only junkers can use it... which means you gotta drop the hacker status =P

There's nothing wrong with the faction recieving a bomber - there's plenty of situations in salvaging where large peices of scrap need to be broken down to be hauled back to junker depots and a standard fighter wont have that kind of firepower.
