You need to have Style to be an arch nemesis... Phantoms have it... Outcasts don't... that's just that...

The purpose of a terrorist incident is to disturb and destroy.

Your current reaction to the incident is a natural incident in relation to scale of what happened. Your reaction is similar to that of a stockholder in a different system from where the incident happened. You're unhappy that the stocks took a dive, but you're more annoyed than scared.

If you reacted from the point of view of the pilot of the ship, the RPed reaction would be one of terror and fear.

The Phantom attack caused you to RP without thinking about RPing.

It's difficult to type out a bunch of sentences when deciding to kill someone. I'll bet a hsndful or more of us don't rp nearly as much we could because of that. I'll RP when I feel like it or just stick to the shadows. Either way they're a hell of a lot more creativity in the average player than it appears buut either on account of lazyness or something along those lines.

Coming here just to argue or "talk" like you'e auditioning for a sci-fi all day is gay, most people are gonnna find an RP that allows them to as much elbow room as needed while both abiding by the rules and making it a bit more interestin than just stooting at strangers. Some people leave 'cause it got so uptight about the RP to where wasn't fun here anymore, and I'd like to not let it become unfun. Someone mentioned very recently what I feel is the scaffolding that balances and makes Disco what it is. Balancing RP and PvP is vital, too much of either makes this sever either linear and plain or stressful and difficult to distinguish from reality in terms of relative stress.

I may have been witness to at least one of these fights.

In the case I seen it was an Osiris, Bomber and an Eagle I believe. They just kinda showed up and attacked without much warning. Now this is OK they accomplished what the Phantoms are there for, to terrorize and cause fear.

In this case though they showed up when little to no lawfuls were around, making little challenge for them. BUT war is never fair, and a good terrorist will probably never attack when the odds show they will likely die before accomplishing their goals.

So the attack there wasn't much problem in.

The problem I can see is there was little to no comm chatter. During the battle I witnessed the Osiris really did nothing except attack and kill a few ships (so not really a PVP whore as the topic title says). He would have had plenty of time to chat/RP their intent, since he was never in any danger and could freely type.

The others probably couldn't since typing would get em killed.

All in all the phantoms are doing their job good BUT like anything they could use some improving.

I think all that needs changing is communication, otherwise... keep on killing.

Hum... More talking. Fair enough. Battleship 30k up somewhere scaring you and givin' ya time to all group up I guess is fair (not to me, I have a harder fight when you're organized >.> ).

Reason I wasn't talking so much is I was dealing with the NPCs that can actually deal damage, AKA the Battleship/Cruiser Patrols, especially the Guardians (dangerous to my escorts). They can deal some hurt... I did yell at the Jammy Dodger a bunch, and I pretty much always make sure to say SOMETHING before shooting...

Actually, quite untrue. The only members of the Phantoms are Admins were Phantoms beforehand. Also, I am not personally friends with many of the newer Phantoms we will be inviting. I only know them through their RP in-game and on the forums. And rumors about their skill, of course. They were deemed worthy, they will join our ranks.

I mostly said that cause almost all phantoms are admins (and i saw one of them or an admin use ".beam" command on him).
