If you want to enjoy the ingame as a serious RP server, some ex de le dank memes should hardly bother you.
Unless you really think that the server may not be as serious as you'd like it to be and now you are just nitpicking for reasons that's the case.
Quoted for truth.

Is it ok with both of you guys if I go "Lol, dai, nub." whenever I'm about to shoot you?
To be fair, I have only seen one of the mentioned problems (Blodo Diamonds, and even they are not ridiculously obvious, but still...)
But when the mod itself is not conducive to the concept, is it any wonder that the quality of roleplay is going down the drain amongst the players?
Honestly, never really have cared about the RP aspect too much. Sure, it could be fun at times, but in my experience usually the fun of it is ruined by people who take the RP too serious. But that's a discussion for another time, and one that I've already had on the forums.
I started playing here because the mod had alot of stuff in it, and had an active server/community. That's all. I didn't join because of the RP, it just sorta came along with the server.
Its a RP server, that should be all done in a RP way, ship/base/commodity names/tags should reflect that. it should be done and treated that way by everyone, ship/base/commodity/tags that are not in RP way, shouldn't be here to be honest.
looks like its getting to the time where if you actually want to take your RP seriously you are just bait for the greater majority that dont care enough to do the same.

<font=bittervet>I honestly haven't seen people take RP seriously for years. It's probably why the server is in the state that it's in</font>
Apart from the irony of Tal talking about ingame immersion, I don't entirely disagree with the concern raised. Jokes are alright every now and again and help lighten the mood, but people making the jokes have to consider when a joke gets old, and simply stop before it reaches that point*. Examples mentioned in this thread already like Dogecoins, Blodo Diamonds or changing conn command to "sparta" are all good examples of jokes that were alright at the very beginning but with rather short half-life (for lack of a better word), and yet they've been sitting there for ages now. It was there for a day, people linked screenshots of it in Skype chats and had a laugh, then it stayed there for a week, a month, and I don't even know how long it's been now since those tweaks were tossed in. Now the same people who chuckled at the joke back then are the ones starting to get annoyed, and they have every right to be. Now if those changes had stayed there for a day or two and then pulled off the server? Everything would've went back to normal and people would've just remembered the laugh, not the nuisance.
tl;dr - Jokes are cool, people laugh, but know when they start to get old. Don't be the guy who goes around for months and keeps telling the same joke (note the lack of S) to the same people.
* This does not only apply to "official" jokes like the abovementioned tweaks, but applies to the average flood/skype jokes that are dragged out of that stinkin hole at the very bottom of the community and thrown around for months as well.
