everybody can have a consensus, I want RULES. The freelancer ID as is is rather concise. The freelancer ID in '85 is very concise.

Freelancer ID

Pilot carrying this ID is a lawful Freelancer who works for him/herself, unwilling to join any of the Sirius factions. Freelancer ID grants its owner right to participate in lawful missions and military operations, fulfil lawful and unlawful bounty contracts, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists. Freelancer ID owner is not allowed to pirate and openly join unlawful forces.

Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats

Pilot carrying this ID is a Freelancer, who:

* Can trade and escort traders

* Can hunt pirates, terrorists and lawfuls across Sirius

* Can fulfill lawful and unlawful bounty contracts

* Cannot pirate

* Cannot use any transports with more than 3,500 cargo

so yeah, the consensus doesent match the rules.

Ah, you misunderstand. I think the rules (in question here) are great as they stand and better in 85. Its a lot of the opinions on them I dont like. "I feel like a freelancer should be _____".

Agreed. A Freelancer is free, he should choose how he operates, not his ID. This new ID allows that further.

My 2cents a month later. Freelancer IS a buonty hunter that chooses not to join the Bh guild . Good Bad or Ugly, if the price is rite and he is in the Mood to take the job a Freelancer can and work for whoever he chooses. Its good to be your own boss..

A long living FL will tend not not to ANGER Lawful Fleets ,navy or Police.

( old Han Solo can tell you Having the whole IMP Navy chaseing you is just BAD for Business...
