BH Capships as escorts OORP?

If its one thing I've learned Orin, I am a hypocrite. So what?
I'll still think that people cannot say "OORP" to any situation.
And like i said, I think the BS can escort. I think it is in RP.

I dont have the time to debate here, so im just going to leave this until I can do it properly.
If an Admin said it, then that needs to be the rules.
However, the admins are people and get things wrong too occasionally (gasp,shock,horror.)
Once again we come to this, where I think RP limits should be defined.
But I doubt we'll ever get there. Look how this thread has gone.
Its a good example of Disco sorting out issues.

Battleships can escort. It's certainly within acceptable RP.

If you don't want to offer support, or counterpoints, okay. I lose respect for you as a person, pushing your opinion onto others without any reasoning, and throwing hypocrisy into it to boot, but very well.

Don't turn this around on debate in general. Civil, logical debate is what fixes things. You simply put your opinion out there, declared it correct, and threw the rest to the wind. You turned this into a flaming by plainly stating "your opinion is wrong".

I'm sorry, debate hasn't caused this, you have. I wanted to be civilly and logically countered. This is how debate works, and how it builds growth.

I cant see what the problem is here.

IF a trader have high prioraty cargo he/she have to deliver, and want to pay a cap ship, then the deal is closed.
And pirates have to deal with it.And dont whine about it.

There are nothing in the rules that can probhit this as long as the trader and his Employed Escort have friendly IFF and IFF.

And sorry this is not the real world this is a RP world, its a game and how USN or other forces do it dont complye.

If i have a high value cargo like loads of Codes i have no problem in hiring a Capship to join my bomber and fighetr escort, Now IS that OORP, I think not.

Lets make a examble
I fly from A to B with Military wehicles capship escort ok.
VIP from A to B in RP they could be going to a high lvl meeting or vacation capship ok.
Plutonium to O49 Zoners need that again Capship escort is ok.

and so goes the list..

And to be fair how many traders use capships as escort. I have in 1 1/2 years had 3-4 caps i hired as capships are to slow.

so if barely anyone on the boards posts a bounty that can be used by a BH cap, which is what once every month? not even that? then what roleplay would they have? and if the only way too make money on a cap is too escort a trader, then so be it if the players are unreasonable about the bountys and use of caps, and the admins are unreasonable about using a cap too escourt then whats the point in even having bh caps? tbh its pathetic, and caps should have every right too escourt and take bounties if its in good RP.

Officially? I'd say there'd be no problem.

In all seriousness though, if this trader is having Battleships escort him, he'll be bankrupt before the end of the week, just having to pay for all the fuel.
So, slight RP concern, perhaps.
As far as OORP practicality is concerned, I'd wager carrying a Battleship with you would be more of a hindrance than a help.

Being escorted by a BS is not OORP, but in this case, I would say it is OORP. Keep in mind, BH BS belong to the bounty hunter core, which is busy fighting a war with the order. Unless those traders were carrying valuable supplies that would benefit the BHG core a great deal, the core would not assign a battleship to escort it.

However, this doesn't mean being escorted by a BS is OORP. If the escorted person is carrying valuable supplies/data that is crucial, then I would think as BS escort would be ok.

@Hyung: Some situations are OORP, not becuase that they are not in roleplay, but becuase they are simply not in any manner reasonable. For instance, a homeless man who lives on Leed steals a top secret Corsair BS then parades it around Manhattan while shooting civilians with Outcast turrets. While it's quite possible to RP a homeless man that somehow steals a ship, it is not realistic that he steals a Corsair BS. Nor is it realistic that he would be able to survive in front of Manhattan. Nor is it reasonable that he docked on a outcast base, and stole the weapons...and stealing turrets from Outcasts BS is not reasonable either.

Well, I don't see using a battleship as an escort so much OORP as it is unfair. I mean, the only real reason for a battleship to escort a convoy would be protecting an important government or military official. And I can see the greedy BHG trying to do the escort mission with one lone battleship.

But on the other hand, put yourself in the shoes of a pirate. You're sitting there in your little bomber, fighter or gun boat and finally a convoy comes along for you to pirate, but uh oh there's a big ugly battleship pointing all its' guns in your direction.

A legitimate tactic in this FUN game is getting taken away, again.

Quoted for Irony. How is that 'fun' for both sides? Getting mobbed by cruisers and gunboats is bad enough, but a battleship? That just ain't right.
Especially when you know the traders only hired you so that you can kill all the pirates so they can power trade without a hassle.

yes bounty hunters are know for their 'escort services', it says so in a few instances of their in game lore on discovery.

I cant go into game to SS it right now but I am sure if you go into wiki you can find it.

Personally, I think its great, i really mean that. There are SO many chances to RP here, escorting with a BS is way better than the uses half of them see here. I would hire you sometime.
