I tried looking up Elite. Even played it over at a friend's house. It's a boring game.
I can still play the original FL campaign and have more fun than playing that repetitive game. If I want pretty space things to look at, I'll get Universe Sandbox 2 (or Squared. W/e).

Freelancer's combat has never been more fun for me than it is today. Vanilla was just Eagle/Sabre/Titan. Flying the same ship over and over while knowing that you can't choose anything else got depressing pretty quick.

In today's combat you actually have to put effort into things like conserving energy. A thing that the nomad guns in Vanilla threw away. Anything related to FLs combat can be summarised in greater detail by other people so I'll leave that to them. (yber pls)

And while the RP isn't nearly half as good as it used to be (coming from a guy who only played .86 and up), I still see people enjoying themselves, be it on the forum or in-game.

Stop being such a massive twat and bugger off in that general direction. Threads like these aren't helping anybody.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I didn't read your entire post (I read most of it) or anyone elses posts. I'm too tired for that much effort.

After spending the last few months away from this place for many reasons I'm curious why anyone still even bothers with disco.

Plenty of things I'm curious about especially when it comes to the OP.
Even if some of what was said I'd agree with I just have to say.
What do you care and what was the purpose of this thread?
Does seem like an ad for Elite and a slam on disco.

To justify my +1 ways mainly.

To be fair there's bias everywhere and the Gallic storyline is odd regardless of the retrofits. Gallic factions feel the brunt of it and don't see too much activity/growth overall. It's nice to use as momentum as it tears up Leeds and changes the mod story, but it's also odd.

POBs are odd right now. So is jumping.

I can't really agree with much else you've said, even though I do feel what you're feeling sometimes which is frustration at how things go down.
