One thing that I think a lot of the "indie" BH caps miss is that the Core is not actually interested in the extermination of every single Corsair and Order member.

They're out there to get their hands on Nomad stuff, to reverse-engineer it and make themselves more capable (at what, i have yet to discover...maybe harvesting Nomad gear, to get better, to...you see the pattern).

The problem is that The Order does not condone the proliferation of nomad tech on human ships, due to the possibility of infection and other such nastiness. As such, they are gonna attempt to stop the Hunters from getting their hands on this stuff.

This is where the conflict arises, not from the Hunters going "ooh, look, Order, die". Corsairs are pulled in by the fact that Hunters have to pass through their space to get to Nomad space (and Hunters have a...reputation...amongst the Corsairs...), and one would assume that Corsairs are not too fond of Nomad tech use, either (Iota-Delta-Kappa-Gamma is one of the exit routes for Nomads).

Anyway, yeah...if people (on both sides) learned more about the roles they were playing, we may not have this issue...

Perhaps instead of making it more of a pain in the butt to get a ship class that can serve perfectly legitimate RP purposes, just restrict its use in PVP scenarios?
Like saying that Cap Ships can't be used to fulfill bounties, or something.

Pardon me but there are those of us who play BHG characters in a proper manor. Come 4.85 this cap ship issue should be solved across the board for all factions. So everyone just relax..take a deep breath and move on.

Erm proper manor? Can you please explain that. What does it means use cap ships in proper manor? To defend our home system? Oh yeah, hunters don't have one. Or don't buy cap ships, and use bomber/fighters to collect bounties on all class of ships?

If a pirate attacks transports in a gunboat what is the problem with a BH attacking said pirate in a Battle Cruiser?

Use caps to engage Nomads in the omicrons, and protect against Order/Corsair attacks...

And what's wrong with collecting bounties in a fighter/bomber? Note that, as pirates cannot...pirate...in anything bigger than a GB, there is little real reason to deploy caps to keep trade flowing, anyway.

What is the crew of the battlecruiser getting out of attacking said pirate? The ones that deploy destroyers and up (the Core) are not particularly interested in protecting trade routes (their income comes from the general bounties collected by the rest of the guild), they are fighting a war.

In essence, you have 2 sub factions within the Bounty Hunters. You have the regular Hunters, a mix of ex-cons, disillusioned military, people looking for a quick buck, etc, and the Core, a military power equivalent in strength to the Houses (possibly), funded by the actions of the "regulars" (hence why you have one faction), but only interested in conducting research into the use of Nomad tech.

As i know thats agains the rules. Bh cant engage without the bounty. So that covers that.

Fighter / bomber cant collect bounty on cruiser, i mean he can but that is almost imposible.

Quote:So very true. The point of it all is,the BH have a right and reason to have capships like any other faction, since the Core DOES have unlimited resources. The real question is:Why do the Corsairs, for example, have capships? Most of the RP is piracy to feed the people of Crete, and on the other hand, while being poor and starving, they can still build massive battleships and whatnot.Basic economy fails.IMO only the factions whose NPC's fly caps should be allowed to have/sell/fly them.

Yeah, corsairs should feed people with battleships, people in create use to eat metal and engines.
I don't know exactly where corsairs got their cap ships, but I can think on a couple of options.
1) From The Hispania.
2) With help from The Order.
3) They have a huge planet which could provide them with material to build their ships.
4) They stolen cap ships and copy models.

The fact that they're pirates don't make them coplete brainless people. They have several bases (in vanilla too), a lot of technology, think on the Tizonas and coladas, they are the number one with that guns.
They could find a way to get cap ships.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to BHs.

BH Capships shouldn't collect bountys. They are in Delta, Kappa, Minor, so Corsairs and The Order are gonna shoot you, and you should defend yourself, but going after fighters and bombers don't make you look good.
