No! Not the Slipstream! Where else can you get a nice looking LF ship with awesome agility and looks nice and still can fight.
Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)
Zapp Wrote:I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.
He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.
Varyag, I am not even a member of the phantoms, firsly i want to clear that up.
Varyag, why dont you go off and make the phantoms a shipline that is half way decent, then you might be able to keep your precious slipstream.
Get over it.
My final word.

Because after 4.85 you'll see 90% of our ships being Claws. Although they won't be called Claws anymore. Our only LF will be the Slipstream, no others will be seen. And Phantoms in a Nomad LF? Unlikely, the only one we have access to is the public one, add that to the fact we're hostile to the Nomads and you understand why we don't touch it.
Finally both ships have been rebalanced in mind of the fact that we're getting both of them. They still won't be uber, 8 guns or 6 on the ships respectively makes them uber enough, they'll just fly differently. Our guns have been balanced for use, and finally add in the fact they were meant for us in the first place. All in all, not for the lulz, but for very logical and precise reasoning. RP wise we wouldn't share C'Tan technology with our closest allies, so why on earth would we share it with anyone else?
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
It isn't that I am unwilling to change.... I just really like the ship and have been running around in it long enough that I figure I have a bit of a right to talk about it. I am aware of the fact that once these things are set in motion not much changes, but I can object. Even a little loudly.
There really are not that many people thrashing around in that nice little ship, but the few of us that are and have been are basically being told that this is ours now, we are going to snatch it away from you no matter what you say about it and reason behind this is simply we like it and we can.
I do plan on keeping my old claw just because I have had it so long and it never leaves conn. (I have no RP use for it anymore but like to pvp in it on occation. It was originally the personal fighter of my merc cruiser's captain.)
My slippy I have used on almost a daily basis for a respectably long time..... it is hard to just ditch something like that.
-edit- It being my second favorite ship in the game to fly behind the hessian cruiser (and my favorite fighter) weighs heavily on my objection as well.

Good luck with that.
I think the Claw and the Slippy were chosen because, for a start, they are from the same line as each other (look at the texturing) and secondly, they look very menacing, yet have always been ships that have been switching roles.
For example, the Claw used to be on a Junker base. I had one back in the day, as a pirate, even though it still said "LSF ship" back then. I loved my claw, and I had many lovely moments in it. I even managed to solo a Rheinland cruiser pilotted by a guy called Ovidius (Not Orvidos) with it, and I loved it so. When it got made into a LSF/Liberty ship, I didnt moan, I just got over it and bought a Spatial and a Werewolf, both of which I loved just as much as the Claw.
The Slipstream used to be a generic light fighter for sale on Bruschal base in Frankfurt. I haven't checked if it's still there now, but I wouldnt count on it.
Another example is the BH gunship when it was the Rogue gunship. It was really really tiny, and it was the only gunship that could go face to face with the Corsair gunboat and win. Mostly attributed to its size, whereby the BH gunship would land about as much damage on the Corsair gunboat as it recieved, despite the difference in firepower.
Consider now that the Phantoms have existed on the server for as long or longer than both the Slipstream and the Ravenclaw have been in the mod.
