Vanilla Freelancer utterly stole real-life history, largely focusing on the twenties and thirties and thereabouts.

It has Spanish Civil War, the Great Depression, Imperial Japan (with the innovative Kishiro being the Toyota company), the IRA...

Yes, but the focus of Rheinland is on the Federal Republic of Weimar, after the fall of the Emperor and the end of the Great War (first worldwar), with is about 20 years befor anything mentioned by our well educated historians.

When compared to that time period, the Navel Ships that can be taken for comparison are the
1. "Poket battleships", since Gemrany could afort to build them, and were allowed but the Fleet Conference of Washington, and the restrictions of the Versaille Packt. (pretty mutch a Battlecruiser).
2. The Comerceraider, Transportships, outfitted with outdated guns, to pray on Other Tradeships (about my suggestion) and
3.the U-Boat...dont knwo about that, it does not really fit any class

Does Rheinland really need another ship? How do the battles between RM and LN go? I've never seen one happen, but what's the score? Who's winning? In practice, that is, not by admin decision what shall happen because of Liberty's more powerfull economy. So, how do the battles go? Not the war, but battles? Has anybody just observed a few and saw a hole in Rheinland's fleet? Really develop? Or do you just want more toys to play? (I'm not bashing anyone, I'd personally like more toys to play, but we're trying to put some sense in this, aren't we?)

So far this is the lineup in the RM/LN wars. the RM have superior fighters, just not enough of them. the Liberty forces almost always have 2-3 caps, usually a carrier or dreadnought, wheras the RM usually dont. Reason is simply, the cost jump between the rm cruiser and bs means the liberty bc is unmatched on the battlefeild, and the rm have to counter with bombers.

Which is probably why Rheinland would have designed the super bomber.

And the Nomad War would be representative of World War 2, I imagine, to some extent, with the Nomad infected Chancellor being like a certain Austrian. Current conflicts appear to be a continuation thereof.

While just another cap ship doesn't necessarily fit, it seems there are some holes that could be filled. As a thought, Rheinland does have a whole lot of fighters and the like. You know what would be really neat? A long distance refueling type ship. I'm thinking something like the Salvager - a transport with decent amounts of armor, firepower, and cargo space.

something in between the cruiser and the bs would be nice for RM players I think.
like already stated: the gap between those 2 is quite big.

(no, I don`t have a RM character:P)

it would be perfectly in rp for the RM to develop a mid class ship to counter the LN`s BC

What is the impact of presence of the Rheinland battleship when it does show it's head on the field? And, if there are Liberty Dreadnaughts present, well... a price jump, ok, but, the cost is still (almost) the same.. about 800M for either of them. So, it doesn't quite explain it. The Liberty Dread has 12 guns, right? Rheinland BS has 18. And I believe heavier armor. What about those things?

Liberty Dread can occasionally dodge.

I have fired SNACs by accident and watched them gravitate toward Rheinland battleships. It was designed to scare the pants off you (and provide a nice fat target) in the SP campaign.

I'm thinking that maybe Rheinland could use a battlecruiser, but in terms of the game universe I think Rheinland is shy about developing more caps. Especially as they are also the top experts on Bomber technology, fielding the only Vanilla bombers and seeing their fleet annihilated first hand by the GMG in snubfighters.

We'll see how the war with Liberty goes. Maybe Rheinland will lean toward countering the LABC with a similar ship, or maybe they'll examine the damage of the LAC's forward gun and say 'less caps in the front line, we need yet another bomber'.
