Eh. I've killed Adv. Trains in my lone Greyhound. They're hardly the best defended ship. Rather than finding a ship that can fly trade runs solo, why don't you try hiring escorts? Or paying the pirates? Spread the wealth and RP around. You can get as many guns and as much armour as you want... but at the end of the day a lone pirate is still gonna beat a lone transport. And pirates travel in packs more often than alone. Your best defence is not your guns, but a silver tongue.

Also amounting to the uselessness of the Adv train. Don't get a Shire unless your working for a bretonian firm, or better, BOWEX. I highly recommend a heavy tanker or a Supertransport.

con trans can take on a GB. can sometimes take on a Bomber as well depends what turrets its got on it.
I would go with the conn trans because of that.

only maybe zoner gb in this mod version .... but most of the gb with less as 7 turrets, use pulses and razors. which eat you really fast. and gb with 8 turrets eat you even faster ....

as far as escorts go... a gunboat with 1 missile and primaries is all you need to ruin any pirates day.... no matter what ship he is in,... Traders really should travel in packs 1 gb + 3-5 traders...

Why should pirates not be forced to "get escorts"?

The Mammoth is a Beauty of a ship i say.
I would also go rather for the Percheron as for the Shire.

Better use a Wolfshound as a Werewolf. Go for the Scimitar instead of the Sabre. Buy a Executioner and not an Avenger.

I have the Adv. Train, but lately I've been using the mammoth, it's fun to use it, and to use escort with it.
