It would probably be much easier to do when docked on a base for cannon - unless he can make something up that when you use the /move to conn or whatever, you will be returned to that exact spot in space.
If we make it only on docked bases - then we can just return you to the base.
I have a possible idea. A hole to conneticut in each capital system (NL, NY, NB, NT, Omicron alpha and gamma). Return holes exist, but their exit points take you 400k directly above the star in the system you head back to. That would stop any powertrading problems, as it would take 20 minutes or so to get back from conn. Naturally, if Cannon could sort out a command to head to conn (maybe along the lines of a combination between .beam and the code which creates a message when you F1, so that people would be able to sanction you for jumping to conn in the middle of a fight, maybe "Player is activating the Conneticut simulation program"), then that would be much more useful, but my idea could work as a quick fix sort of thing or if the coding turns out impossible.
Connect system could be designed similar to Bastile, no jump holes, and could be accessed by a user FLHook command. The only question to this is would implementing a user command to CT (similar to beam) cause any server instability?

The problems with JH in lots of sytems would make it a massive crossroads from traders, going from Say New London to New York though just a single system. Perhaps have a similar system linked to each Capital system, for PvP and the occasional race. Each with only the one way in/out.
A command would be good, but as Thurgret said, between two people they could 'teleport' from base A, with 5K of something in their hold, trade to the 2nd person who 'teleports' back to the base where they came from to sell them for a lot of money. We'de have a new breed of power traders. So bad Idea.
It really isn't that hard to reach the jump hole. It takes only a few seconds of dodging before you're there. On top of that you can ask people in local ooc if they can please let you past.
