IMO bots and bats are essential for the game and for fighting. The amounts of bots and bats carried by a ship can be an advantage or disadvantage within a battle. Some of the slower moving, 'crappy' ships carry more bots and bats to offset the disadvantage they already have.
Bot/Bat supply running sounds valid to me-its a supply chain that every battle since the beginning of time has had. Napoleon said an army lives and fights on its stomach, the Nazis nearly won the war in Europe by cutting off the allied supply chain in the Atlantic-the same must be true in Sirius. Destroy the offending supply ship.
1 kill rule sounds good to me. If we implimtent Osorojo's suggestion and allow players to switch to a different ship after dieing it would give an advantage to players that have many characters (not sure if thats good or bad.)
Perhaps a melding of the two ideas: allow only one death per ship, and only 3 ships per fight (or 2?)
I say scrap bots and bats in combat, and follow a 1 death policy.

Yngen, perhaps you should stop your flaming before it continues.. Seems you like to feed personal vendettas as well..
I was speaking of when a Liner goes in with bombers and sits where it cannot be shot, feeding bombers the massive amounts of SBs and NBs they can hold. If its a fleet battle, I think its fine. But when you come in on a group of fighters with a Lux Liner and sits there with bombers so they can nova fighters, its quite an abuse. Now running NBs/SBs to capships and fighters in big battles like those that were taking place in California is fine, and smart. I'm just saying it shouldn't be taken too far.
Bots and Batts can be used in any battle, unless both sides agreed not to use them before the battle.
The 3 death rule was put in effect because of harassment.
There were people that killed the same player once and again, repeatedly. It's no fun being killed 5, 6, 10 times by the same player. So we instaurated the rule to avoid that from happening...
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
Not to mention the fleet battles that never ended because neither side would admit defeat and both had unlimited respawns. Until this was put into effect, that was happening all the time.. Once it was put in effect though, the amount of post-battle flaming dropped like a brick..

Dab u played excelcia..u know that there we carried ammo and missiles to combat in enemie systems on trader ships cause they cant be bought anywhere else except on own millitary bases. I think this may be similar. And anyway we have better ship then Liner to do that. Repair ship. Didn't u ever asked yourself why such small and weak ship can carry 750 nanos and batts?...Maybe it is for repairing other ships..and maybe it can be during the fight...
In every battle primary target is enemie supply lines. U may not like this...but it can be more realistic if used properly...
Three death rule may be brought to two death...i really don't see any point on attacking or defending further if u get killed twice...
As for changing char and reentering the fight...i would allow it if other char is role played as different person and is in same faction as killed char...but that is debatable...maybe we should test few of suggestions that are given here in fictional battles in Connecticut...
Dab, Yngen was not flaming. That was a statement of opinion and an over-all useful post.
Now, back to the topic at hand; I'm not saying that we should have unlimmited respawns or anything like that. I'm saying we need to cut down the number of respawns to zero. Again, you only have the one ship. If it get's blown up, it gets blown up. Why do we need three lives?
Mistakes happen, accidents happen, luck runs good or bad (depending on the viewpoint), all of this we deal with in real life. Again I ask why must we negate the laws of the universe? Because some unlucky bugger tripped over his own mine, or took a fighter in a straight line against a battleship? Sorry bud, but that's life. Or rather, that -was- life, seeing as how you're dead now.
I would like to see a bit more in the ways of a Code of Honor, especially if we impliment the 1 Death Rule (Which I endorse whole-heartedly). If you die, it would be prudent of you to accept that and leave for a time. Even 30 minutes can be too short, plus comming back to fight every 30 minutes would get exceedingly booring for one side or the other, especially if the attacker won't stop. Eventually, they'll claim a cheep victory because the other decided they wouldn't fight a 15th time. Botts and Batts, while available to use, I generaly only use if my opponent does first. Code of Honor, the Gentelmans Rules, if you will.
This is the real true story of rock and roll; it was not about anything more then, how to live your life, as a gangster, in sartorial splendor, and turning the world into a place where normality would never return again...- Malcolm McLaren
I just tried a 3-kill fight with Supernova, where I completely lost, despite having a much more powerful, but ill-equiped ship.
Sure, you get caught up in the action, and 3 kills are great. But there's no point to it. 1 Kill is much better, and lets one develop their chars more.
The One kill rule, I must state, if it's going to be used, MUST be a rule. It can't be something like Shieldrunning, where it's a gentlemen's agreement. Dab, you remember that whole episode of flaming around a month ago don't you?
If one person abides by 1 Kill, and someone else does not, then there's a problem.
