' Wrote:Why don't we just take caps (except gunboats) out of the game? it would make life so much easier on everyone, then there would be no need for power trading and all of that other OORP nonsense. Reserve BS's for NPC's. We can then balance gunboats to be taken down by ganks of fighters easily but kill bombers (take refire rate down on GB weapons). Thus making it essential that you have an escort thus promoting better RP. Then people can get on with the game instead of being bogged down trying to afford something that really only limits them. Another good thing I can see about this is that once all of the PvP whores see that there are no BS's anymore they'll go to another server and leave us in peace.
Take away caps, and we'll all be PvPing in Container Transports and Shires.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
That, and bombers are 100% meant to kill capital ships. Bear, use brain before hitting post, please. The mod has capitals becuase people like to ROLEPLAY capitals.
As a couple of others have said, forum RP is not always necessary if someone does a good job in-game, which is by far the more important factor. That said, forum RP and background stories go a long way to enhancing and fleshing out the character or ship, and I think greatly benefits the community as a whole.
I'm no expert on lolwutters, but isn't it the case that most just get bored and move onto their next abomination pretty quick?
Furthermore, if its takes a couple of weeks to save up for a large cap, (I know it took me longer to save for my juggy + cap7) then that's plenty of time to get something written. Even if it's fairly limited.
Like i said, it's not necessary, but I actually had a lot of fun writing the text and making up the faux photographs and dataslate for my Juggernaught, the ZS-Herculaneum. The same goes for my semi-retired freelancer, Erasmus Fontayne. I don't think it's something which should be looked upon as a chore.
