With further discussions, this is how we're thinking. For most characters, very little will change. In the LWB, for instance, we already had a good variety of character views on things (eg we had one that specifically disliked Republican before, and one who thought they did good work for Rheinland). In this end, this will be little different, only expanded more.
RP-wise, many are against any such moves, but many are willing to see how it will go. The basis is in a regime change of sorts among the LWB, with the current AU leadership feeling it's a good move. I'm told they wouldn't mind if another group popped up and were willing to discuss various Unionery things with them.
We're going to experiment for a month or two, length depending on how things are changing Disco-wise, with the plan and after figure if we should merge even further, keep it the same, or dissolve the union.

Really? Because I've only seen one LWB Arbeiter in that time period, and I don't think I've ever seen an LWB using Hessian guns, other than an experimentation of mine in 4.84.
Quote:Q. What about independent players playing these factions?
It should have no effect on them. But then, there's only ever been a handfull of indie LWBs.
Quote:-The organization should split into 2 subgroups or squadrons comprising of members of the two earlier factions and each one would take care of one goal. It could be more loosely organized(indicating incomplete integration) with separate tags for the two different squadrons.
That's a good thought. Several squads each with a specific goal would allow for multiple subgroups while each could keep their purpose and a third could have an integrated goal.
Quote:I dislike this idea on personal grounds. But factions must evolve. One of my logistic concerns is... is it possible for one faction to have two separate IDs like that? Unioner and LWB? I thought official factions were regulated to one.
We were told we were ok with two, at least for the time being. Depending on how things evolve, we'll figure out specifics.
Quote:I give it a thumbs up. Maybe you would even allow little ol' me to join.
Feel free to apply to one or the other, I'm not sure how we're working it at present. It's all the same skype chat now anyway, we can sort specifics there. :)

That's not nearly long enough for a Rheinland group's name!

Really and half year before was 4.85 already so.... and if we say how half year before was lesser number LWB with arbeiter, what about now? Or in the last week? When you saw LWB on eagle example? But really whatever, there is no difference betweel LWB and AU in game. Common useable ships, weapons, bases, common goals, targets and so on. Is any real difference between the 2 group now (and dont come with that how LWB dont go to Texas - as we reed before almost same ZoI)? Or if we bring here Volksfront and RHA any real difference from this 4 faction now in game? I dont really see (for it you can check Daumann message dump, my talk with an LWB member, totally same what RHA usually say). The only problem, both group have low number active member, and they try to keep up the official status somehow. so if they start to use [LWB-AU] tag or like, they hope they wont get suspension. This is their decision, I personally dont think how it is a real key, how it will help, but what I think that doesnt matter:).
So when does this experiment will start ?
I`m asking because i would like to reactivate my old AU char and still no reply on the Recruitment office. For the last few days, when i`m on i don`t see anyone, from both the factions.
Wolfspirit, I'm sorry but I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say there at the beginning. But there is certainly a big different between the VF, RHA, and the LWB/AU. That's part of the idea - the LWB and AU are very similar and distinct from the other two and their respective factions.
As to LWB and Daumann, I'm not sure on specifics, but since Daumann has generally been the corporation that has hunted us the most by far, I can see why there'd be aggression.

But, the idea is great and hope it works.
We mostly are now, but Dancing Lady is on vacation until some time this week, so we're holding back on finalizing all the stuff we wrote until then. It would probably explain a delay in a reply there, too.

Ahem. It would be the nail in the coffin for at least one of the two. Furthermore, LWB are more closely aligned to the Red Hessians, not the Unioners, in vanilla, and, considering how the two were set up, with the Hessians expanding, it would be the Hessians taking over, enveloping the LWB (and maybe the Bundschuh), and then maybe getting into turf wars with the Unioners.
The RHA as is are pretty much Bundschuh but with Hessian technology. We're very idealistic and only care about the Fatherland, but we also have a special sort of care for the miners that we seek to protect because we used to be them. I think that if the RHA were to absorb the LWB, nobody would really notice. The LWB is pretty much a sector of the Hessians as is, they have their own RP and technology but without the RHA the LWB wouldn't even exist anymores. Unioners are, and always have been, on the brink of extinction. They survive on their own. I really strongly dislike this idea because although the RHA are pretty much the only people in Rheinland (along with the RM) the RP of the two groups, when they're around, is still very unique and any sort of merging would endanger that.
It might increase activity, sure, but if any sort of merging were to happen it would be the Bundschuh and the Hessians. With the other two unlawful factions being sorts of "wings" under the joint Bundie-Hessian leadership. I do actually kind of like that idea because in that way, the individuality of the factions is preserved, and their RP is still their own, but they're all very much more organized and thus more effective.
However, just the LWB and the AU merging is a bad idea, imo. My two cents.;)
I like the idea, and I would remake an LWB affiliated character to join you guys as last time I was with them it was non-existent. A merging would expand the community in that area of Sirius, although there are some things that need to be thought through first
Dream Theater - "Sabre120 and Jongleur officially win. That is all."
If the AU and LWB unite, what will that mean to the indie pilots and their relationship with their respective factions?
I.e An indie Unioner dealing with the AU. Who is he dealing with?
A Unioner, or a farmer?
..and vice versa, an indie farmer and the LWB, and to confuse it all the more, a farmer talking to an AU member or Unioner talking to an LWB member.
Just who would they represent, from the 'other guys' perspective?
While I'm all for alliances or even members doubling up, there will be a lot of confusion methinks.
I'm not sure for example, an indie Unioner is going to respond to an LWB pilot in the same way he would an AU pilot in certain situations.
I'm sure you guys have this all figured out but I can see what Zelot is getting at.
I do believe what these two people are talking about are the player factions, not the NPC factions. This means that if you wanna play an LWB, play an LWB. If you wanna play a Unioner, play a Unioner. It's just that simple.

NotLike.
AU and LWB are too different, in my opinion.
1) AU are still a bit connected to Corsairs. They still support Artifacts trade.
2) AU are / were terrorists, now they are / should be pirates.
3) They aren't respected in public eyes much.
1) LWB are considered political activists by goverment.
2) They've got very sizeable public support.
3) They hate Corsairs.
