Alright so here's sort of what we came up with:

Quote:The Legislative branch would be unicameral and consist of the Senate. The Senate would be a representative from each of the following factions/groups:
  • Ageira Technologies
  • Cryer Phermaceuticals
  • Hellfire Legion(??)
  • Interspace Neuralnet Division
  • Kings of Freight
  • Liberty Navy
  • Liberty Police Incorporated
  • Liberty Security Force
  • Synth Foods Inc.
  • Universal Shipping Incorporated
  • Trade/Worker/Civilian Indies
  • Fighters/Vigilantes/Merc Indies
  • Pirates/Unlawful Indies
  • Xenos(??)

What do you guys think?

' Wrote:As it stands, the majority of decision making in Liberty is done by a group of faction leaders. That is, high ranking members of the LPI, LN and LSF. These three groups are the people upon whom any government decree or decision will impact the most.

I think there should be separation of legislative and executive power in Liberty as it's not supposed to be policy state/military dictatorship
Question is whether the LPI, LN and LSF are willing to give up some of their powers and follow decisions of civilian government. As Joe said those factions will be affected the most.

Trade/Worker/Civilian Indies - Any indie from anywhere would have a representative in a Liberty Senate?... I disagree

Fighters/Vigilantes/Merc Indies - Any indie from anywhere would have a representative in a Liberty Senate?... I disagree

Pirates/Unlawful Indies - Eh, No... at least they shouldn't be able to get an own representative... if they want to buy one from the lawful factions... heh...

Xenos(??) - No...

Cryer Phermaceuticals - Not even based on Liberty

I think it's a great idea, but I also think it won't work. Not enough stuff like law changes/debates happen in Liberty anyway. I feel that after a while when you wanted to vote for something, you'd only get about 10 votes total when there are, say, 25 people who should be voting.

I think that the problem with these ideas is that while they're good ideas, there just isn't a large enough server/playerbase for it to work well.

The LPI/LSF/LN High commands do. Just send a PM to one of us and we'll post it in the HC chat.

You have been on my country, right?

Sorry... had to +1

I'd say that to the current government, won't be all bad to add liberty coorps, but that depends on those coorps' leaders.

Still trying to contact all the appropriate leaders to see if they're on board.

@Bauer: If we don't try it, then we'll never know if this 'liberty government' will actually be used.

I also worry that if you have a set list of factions that will be represented, then eventually your going to have some indie factions down the line complaining that they aren't represented.

Other then that this is looking good

I updated Post #24, so check it out and let me know what you think. I simplified it so hopefully it's not overwhelming.

The 'Governors' of the states posted before will be senators as well with the official faction representatives. So, all indies have a chance to be a senator if they are elected.
