Jinx is the only one who can structure a wall of text so nicely that I gladly read it.

And the content of that text is something I agree on as well.

I think the Order, the Hogosha, the GMG, House Military, House Police and House corporations could be represented by official factions, as they're supposed to be highly organised. Different villains and revoutionarees aren't, on another hand.

But it's democracy, so NO U.

Mollys.
If someone talks about peace treaties killing them again I will hunt them down with a giant fish and viciously codslap them till they repent.

We were told what was happening in 4.86 to the Mollys.
We had to lay the ground.
4.86 did not come at all as soon as we were led to believe.
Ground is laid, very..very..laid.

In an effort to stop the Mollys quite simply dying, we split them up.
Roleplay wise, the different Molly groups represent the different bunches of Mollys in Bretonia.
No matter which official molly faction rose to power, Dublin was the only important thing for them, everywhere else was ignored. With development severely stamped on there though, it ultimately led to stagnation.
With 3 different Molly groups, there are 3 'main' ways to play a molly, with countless others possible, instead of only 1 'main' way.

The peace treaty was pushed forward due to what we thought was the imminent release of 4.86.
It turned out to be far too early.
The Molly's currently are in a big, big grey area.
The treaty was with the MR, which no longer exists.
All the Mollys, indie and official, can pew pew Bretonia if they wish.
Bretonia has made very few moves to actually get this grey area sorted, probably due to the inactivity of the Mollys not in Dublin.
Molly piracy is still possible, in every way.

In answer to the actual topic question.
Not all official factions represent their entire faction.
Those that attempt to represent the entire faction often do, and clamp down on indies etc through pressure of different kinds.
Some clear cut lines would be helpful sometimes but right now, the grey area allows for a lot of flexibility.

"Noone wants to give up power, but I say this, in the old days you took old people to the nearby forest and shot them, because they had nothing to contribute to the cause"

I remember back in the day, The old people would walk up to the edge of the cliff and throw themselves peacefully into the void. Even then though, they would find a way to be useful to the tribe. They would tie a young nub to each leg therefore culling the stupidity amongst them as a whole. I hope your OLD reference was in terms of people holding a position in a faction for to long and not directed at Older players who play this game.

So, is it about people not wanting to give up power, or not having any at all? While I might agree on some things you stated, I'm still up in the air about it all.

Undecided.

No! As well as shoudlnt be any player allowed to RP a leader of a state like a President, King... etc. Its dissapointing, senseless, does damage to the rp environment. My two cents.
