I disagree on the trade routes point. There are many which revolve around pluton...oh, wait. The KNF blocked off Okinawa.
On that note...to be honest, it seems like whoever's running Kusari, right now, is overreacting in a major way to a multitude of things. From some questionably-reasoned and confusingly-RP'd embargoes, the aforementioned blockade (which has caused a multitude of RP problems for many people), and a general unwillingness to negotiate on reasonable terms (from my experience), operating in Kusari can just be a pain.
Let's face it; House activity runs on trading and travel. Kusari has choked out both.

Seriously, you dont know what you are talking about. I have been pleading with people to settle things with Kusari. The Emperor tried to get the GMG to negotiate, they would have none of it. Same with Liberty (although that is starting to move now.) But this whole idea that somehow Kusari is starting all of these things and is unwilling to negotiate a solution is ridiculous and just plan false. Both in-rp and out of rp.
The latest GMG conflict with Kusari gave all sides (KNF, Hogosha, Gaians, Samura vs Dragons, GMG, Mercenaries, Wild) a lot to do. I cannot complaint right now.
Unless something drastically changed in last 5 days.

Kusari was next to dead a few months ago. Now, after the mining got fixed, it is actually a lot more active than Bretonia, at least during the times I usually am on. Especially trader-wise.
And Kusari-Liberty is almost the only embargo worth running, both profit and excitement wise, even more so after the Trade monitoring thingy.
What Kusari lacks are run-of-a-mill pirates. Too rarely I see them. Even though Shinigawa-Honshu JG is the most profitable lane I've ever pirated on.
Bad to see the lack of activity in Kusari. I think it is the most interesting region after Rheinland. C'mon Kusari have the yakuza, drug addicted chicks, terroris farmers, blood dragons, all the fancy and interesting stuff...and one of the most beautiful systems. Liberty is heavily populated but less interesting...hmm.
Also bout time to make a Kusari char again...The question is what faction lack to most people.
