Give caps to official factions control and SRPs only. For god sake.
Personally I have 1 cap, and it's a cruiser that serves as [C] special wing mobile base. Really, there is no need in caps larger then GBs, it only cause trouble, and as such I think that official factions can make sure they go to the right hands. official factions and admins of course.

Veygaar, the only reason you DON'T see people flying the same ships is cause different groups can't access some ships. If everyone cared for PvP instead of actually caring SOME for RP, everyone would have a Sabre as a VHF, a Mamoru as a bomber, a Claymore, a Ku cruiser and an osiris.

Sucks to be a weight on the wrong side of the brilliance-insanity scale.

Which pretty much sums it up when it comes to best possible tech. Add zoner turrets, code weapons, sair shieldbusters, outcast thrusters and whatnot.

Really, people always fly what is best suited for them and since game is about pew pew, guess...

Sounds not bad so far, there are just two things that quite bugger me.

Currently a swarm of Fighters can hardly prevent a few Bombers from killing a bigger ships, since those Bombers evade most of the fire once they get focused.
Giving Bombers even more amor would quite make them unkillable by fighters.

Also, Bombers shall then

If you buff bombers that much, that their Torpedoes cause destruction (in full caps) to Battleships that got twice as much amor as now, how to balance them vs Transports then?

I am all for it, would be nice if you got Battleships SRPR'ed or if you would at least need some request, whilst leaving Cruisers and Battlecruisers free for all.

Uh to explain - making bombers armored more but also SEVERELY in full caps reducing their evading abilities, remember starlancer Kamovs? Transport style bombers, slow cumbersome but powerful.
Vs transports that is different story, but id devise specific pirate gun really since such torpedo is kinda silly. But it can be shot as it flies and has some start-up rating before flying, so that gives chance or two as well.

If they weren't as tiny as fighters, things would be different, me thinks.

If you make bombers larger and slower, even if more armoured, they would be easy prey to fighters. And allied fighters won't be able to protect the bombers because enemy fighters can dodge while dishing out damage...sort of like now escorts are hopeless vs a bomber who attacks a cap, the same way escorts would be useless vs a fighter who attacks a bomber. So I don't really see that as a solution...
