---He Sat at his desk aboard the Metzger, finishing up a couple of the crews personell reports, he wanted to know exactly who he had with him on board for this little journey.
Angelfire disappeared, and now reports of a gunboat popping in and out here and there, could only mean one thing, and He didnt like what it meant.
Time to do some..Snooping himself as it were And there were a few Names he knew and places to go, just not some of the more...choicest vacation spots..
It was time, he stood, and walked the short distance to the bridge, 'XO give me comms'
'Aye Sir'
'Attention Crew of the Metzger, It is time'
'Engine Room, Engines 1/4, bring us out Mister, then then engines full to the first trade lane, let us get this over with now'
He looked at his XO and nodded, the hunt had begun--
I spent the whole day on Crete today, and did not go into space until late night. I was busy Searching the Data Base of the Neurol Net for last know locations of the Angelfire. Also some modifications were made to the Valentine..I upgraded my scanners to pickup and trace Global Communications..This will help the next time I encounter Angelfire.
After I eventually launched for a quick Patrol in Gamma, an Independant Corsair Contacted me over Secure Comms. And What he had to say was most interresting, and disturbing.
Apparently, a Rheinland Officer aboard a Gunboat called the Metzger were enguiring about me and the Valentine. Now I have many enemies, but I do not recall stepping on a Rheinland officers toes. According to the Corsair he was desperate to get all the information about me. He was also willing to pay. Handsomely I might add. Fortunately the Corsair did not say much, as he does not know much. But now that I know I am being hunted, I must do what all corsairs do. Become the Hunter.
I now have 2 Ships I am looking for..The Metzger, and the Angelfire.
What does this Officer want with me? Only time will tell.
--Parked at the Omega 41 jump hole in Omega 15, he took on corsair and hessians, laughing the whole time as the cargo hold filled up, they jettisoned out the Niobium, silver, and other items, that he would normally keep, saving room only for the pilots.
When it was all said and done, 30 pilots, corsair and hessian stood in the cargo hold, unrestrained, and eyeing each other down, the corsair outnumbered the hessian a little bit better than four to one..poor odds for the hessians. They did manage to take a few of the corsair pilots out but the last hessian pilot was killed, and then the fun begain for real. one by one his crew subdued each corsair pilot, and they were restrained, and one by one, they were brought in for questioning. One by one...they fell to the ground, dead after giving the little tidbits of information they were able to get inbetween screams.
The Hatred the captain felt for the corsair only grew now, as he blamed them for the lengths that he was forced to go to now to extract the information he wanted and needed, they were no where near as reasonable as the other corsair he met today...a measly 10 million credits would get him more information than all the blood spilled today gleaned him.
He got precious little information, nothing about Angelfire, or the other....but the last corsair he 'interviewed', said something about...The Wretched....what is a wretched...he looked down at the floorplate...a dark red from the blood, used to be a nice soothing gunmetal grey....Wretched...
I launched from Crete again this morning. Was clear of the docking ring, firing up my cruise engines and saw my Comms Link activated.
I was hailed by the [Wretched]. Codename Fireblade. The ship I cleared to land a couple of days ago. He was apparently undergoing intensive training for the Elders. I asked him what for, and he said for his next mission. His next mission was apparently the destruction of the Repex Vessel Angelfire.
I dont know whats going on now. I have not encountered Angelfire today. However I am unsure of what I must do the next time I do. Should I engage and destroy it, it would seem that the elders want it this way..Yet, there is a strange feeling when I talk to this individual. A Strange feeling, like I have known him. Like he is partly connected to me in some way. Could it be that during my years in Alaska Prison we might have met..I can hardly recall most of my time in those prison hells. It seems strange. On top of that, I still have the Mertzger to worry about. Why was he looking for me..
I went on patrol with Victor and Boss C ummings today, We bagged 3 Corsairs.
The information I have extracted is extremely frustrating!
They know nothing of me, nor this Fireblade I recently heard about.
They all mentioned something about the Wild. Secret missions by certain Corsairs to get living prisoners, not to open the pods but deliver them to a secret location in crete...
This is crazy, what are Corsairs doing with the Wild? From the way i understand things, The Order are the ones who are busy with such Alien business.

Subject: Formation of a task force, CTF 22
Gentlemen of the Liberty navy and LSF, information suggesting that the corsairs have been rehabilitating Das Wilde has come to my attention. I believe that this warrants investigation. Also, due to our lack of knowledge on the Omicrons and Nomads, this CTF could serve another purpose, we could obtain nomad weaponry/tech for expirementation at willard Research Station in California. If this "information" turns out to be true, then we might be able to capture one of these so called "wretched". Now for the task force itself. I believe we could use the current carrier in the 5th Fleet, my flagship, the Albion, with a bit of refitting, she could serve the purpose of this mission. The task force would also map the edge worlds, so we have more information there, and would serve as a base for our forces in Omicron Delta. The task force would consist of the Albion herself and two flights of fighters, possibly two flights of avengers, but in the interest of keeping a low profile, i suggest we attempt to obtain several "Virage" civilian HFs. The task force will not use IFFs (if that part gets admin approval), but will carry liberty Navy IDs. The Albion will not be used much and will stay primarily in the asteroid field in the Delta System, to avoid detection. As this is in the planning stages, pilots have not been selected, but i have several in mind.
Signed,
Rear Admiral James Wooley, Commanding, 5th "Storm" Fleet
