Meh. Big LFs have more hull. There's a few that can survive a nuke to hull - Surveyor, Hyena, Manaslu, Loki and the Nomad LFs if I'm not misstaken. All of these are rather large for LF standards. Most of them require just a teensy bit of extra damage to make them go *pop*. So add some gunfire to that nuke and you'll have yourself a nice red cloud. Red? Oh, right, effects update is for next version.

Here's the size of the Hyena compared to some other brets ships.
It's even bigger than templar.
And trust me about something, Hyena is really crappy.

If you aid us, and you aid them, you are the enemy.
If you do not aid them, you are worthless outside of extortion potential.
If you aid us, you will be treated with respect.
The Hyena can survive a nuke hit because it's armor is just massive. It has a ton of armor for a light fighter, but not a lot of armor for it's size. The Hyena is respectably fast, has nice guns and a nice powerplant, and can be a real pest to deal with with light or heavy fighters. However a few solid hits still does her in, especially from her side... head on attacks are more doable because of her flat front profile.
If I am right the thing has a 850/8500 powerplant, 3 class nines, a heavy fighter turret, and a torpedo mount. She's the Barghest of LFs, and as such I have named mine Baby Barghie.
And I just want to say that I feel like the Hyena is rather nicely balanced. Given the trend of Rogue ships... she is big, has nice guns and armor but that is about all she has in redeeming qualities. I have a Hyena, as I said, and I like the thing, I just killed a Liberator in mine yesterday. If you know how to fly it, the ship is really good, but if you make any mistakes it is rather unforgiving.

The Bloodhound in vanilla was designed to be something easy to fight in the beginning of the game when people were still learning the controls and flying tricks in SP... your main pirate opponent would be this thing, a rather large, sluggish, poorly armed pirate ship that would be easy to hit... as you moved through the Liberty missions you would face slightly tougher ships, Daggers, and eventually Defenders (which would be equal to your equipment at the time).
