Funny that all the people who blame technology for the worlds wrongs, use said technology to do so claiming they're right.

Technology is only as good or bad as the human wielding it. That said, our race is capable of doing just as much good as we are bad with technology. Thus, technology is both good and bad.

Wonder how long until people start printing sex toys. Be a ton of internet rage then.

With power like this coming onto the market, I can see things going Deus Ex: Human Revolution style, the world itself needs act as one to adjust and integrate the power of the people with the power of the elite. Lest we all fall into petty wars.

Idealistic, yes. Possible, yes. Going to happen... I don't think so. We're all too small minded, and so easily distracted by small problems.

Nobody likes to talk about the big picture, no. More to the point, nobody likes to DO anything about it in large numbers until it directly affects them.

What people want is normality, wake up with a newspaper, have fuel in the car and dad's kissing their kids as they go to work. A normal happy day. That is what the 'first-world' government tries to do with varying success.

The people across the world needs to stop and thank globally, not within their own borders. In fact, I'd love to see a world with no borders, its been the cause of so much problems.

I'd ask that you not inform my wife of this.

How did that guy ever get a news job when his writing skills suck that bad?

Anyways, anyone with a few simple garage tools can machine a makeshift gun, people have been doing it for decades. Pipe bombs and other killing implements are also easy to make in the concealment of your own home.

You cant take the stupid, or the crazy, out of the human race, at least not until they come up with selective gene-targetting bioweapons that kill stupid and leave everyone else alive.

btw, I've used a 3d printer before, back when I was taking CAD/drafting classes. Built a scale model of an aircraft carrier with it. Nifty little machines.
