Aquila's been working on a little... project for us.
The Spirit of Radio.
I took it to a simulator complex just over Curacao, where it was tested against a simulated Coalition Gunship, l'Ane, and Pirate Transport. It came out ahead in each encounter.
Additionally, it has proven capable of causing significant damage to a cruiser-grade shield.
The generators needed to be completely replaced for additional stability, especially under extreme stress, and the thrusters needed to be redesigned to handle the added weight of warship armor reinforcement.
But the power! I only wish I'd had the chance to captain a Talarca back when Renzu still made them.

Gentlemen,
The taskmaster has allowed me to sponsor the creation of the Natio Octavarium Ministry of Research and Development (NOMRD) and administrate it as well. I've already begun allocating funds towards developing our first facility, the Khorramshahr Research Center (Conceptual Graphic), to be built on a campus of 240 square kilometers atop the island of Annacis. The estimated cost of the facility will exceed forty million credits, though this is of little issue; the complex will be renovated and developed in accordance with the technological progress of Sirius. As of now, the facility is to remain restricted to N.O. civilians without proper clearance; Raiders have full clearance to the facility and academic Raiders are encouraged to pursue learning opportunities and perhaps contribute to the technological rise of our Nation.
The construction site is to be cleared by Sunday and the facility will be operational by next month assuming all goes according to (or ahead of) plan. Our current largest priority is to establish a domestic pharmaceutical industry that will eventually allow us to manufacture medicine inexpensively for the Octavarian people and Vagrant Raider combatants. My expertise coupled with a team of brilliant pharmacologists and chemists guarantees that the aforementioned goal is easily achievable. Currently we are operating out of a smaller research building on the capital island of New Vancouver, at the moment we have 32 staff members conducting research while we await the construction of Khorramshahr.
To any VR personnel who would like to visit the facility upon its completion, you are more than welcome to, though please remember that the activities of the facility research staff will be highly restricted information.

The spatial anomaly passing through the sector has passed.
Taskmaster Escher's comm systems are still malfunctioning slightly, but he completed a brief patrol of Kansas. No lasting damage seems to have been taken.

Taskmaster, I'd like to request that we never do that again.
We got called to escort a Coalition vodka convoy - no, I don't get it either. I ran advance scouting, and everything went fine.
Then we got to California, and find Fleet Admiral Rachel Baker - just what she was doing in the ice field is still up for debate. And without waiting for the go-ahead, the coalition transports jump in right behind me.
The admiral was not amused. Neither was I.
And then, we find a Code 17-Aqua not much further.
The only good thing that happened is that the recent anomalies appear to have disabled the Coin.
Me and my brother performed a routine patrol of New Caledonia yesterday; that is, he performed the patrols and I got some much needed rest in the backroom, after the recent days non-stop nonsense in Magellan. Anyway, we stumbled upon some guy, Michael Some-name-or-another, who said he was speaking on behalf of some faction uninspiredly called "The Commune", and that they wanted to buy some land. Erasmas was his usual good-boy self and gave him all the necessary information to contact the meritocracy.

The Metropolis and a Raiders task force encountered the RNS Corvette today. The Metropolis needed some internal and external repairs afterwards.
And then we met up with Joseph Garcia, Field Marshal of the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army. They seem interested in the construction of a combat-capable carrier class vessel. Some pointers were given. We are meeting again with him soon.
