That's why I pointed out Geth and Heretics. They both are networked intelligence, but at some point they choose their own ways, without being completely excluding each other. For both of them, their ways weren't considered wrong, just different. I like how in Mass Effect 2 Legion makes a mathematical comparison: for the Geth, 2>1. But for the Heretics, 3>2.

To clarify, the AI ID refers to a specific type of AI with a single source of origin from Gammu. There's still plenty of variation between units seeing as they're all effectively mechanical individuals instead of a hive mind.
AI isn't a generic ID. It isn't a catch all term for any artifical intelligence in this contex; I.e. it doesn't refer to units of entirely human origin (the sleeper ship pilots for example), and has specific lore associated with it. Their infocards will be shortly updated to underline this.
Perhaps a better IFF would be GI, 'Gammusian Intelligence', or something like that?

The AI ingame is SPECIFIC to Gammu, while nothings stopping you oorply, its really just inrp weird to have an "LSF controlled" AI Drone with AI ID and IFF. its tech belonging specifically to the Gammu AI, and it is tech that nobody has gotten a hold of let alone get it to work for them. Thank you @jammi for finally stating that
You can kinda say that, if you did want to rp a Sirian AI itd just use whatever ID you want to use it for, and just rp in a Sirian ship with the AI program. If you want a Gammu AI use the Gammu ships and Gammu AI Roleplay. (I hope that guide is still up on the AI info page at least)

This.
The AI ID states that the AIs there are not under the control of humans or Nomads, and are basically the Borg to the Nomad's Dominion.
Actually, I now have a Flood thing to do, now that it comes to that.
Even this discussion is out of topic somehow, I once again summarize the issues I have forwarded a couple times.
Quote:1. The Gammu infocard, states an AI civilization has arisen unnoticed on Gammu's surface for about 300 years by self-modulating their programmings, gaining sentience and a magical non-sirian ship-design and technology. Not to mention without being used or destroyed, because these commonly the most realistic scenario occurring in such place.
2. The AI ID and IFF ingame, state that MOST AIs descend from Planet Gammu. Having the term MOST in this remains the option to do another background unsettled.
3. There aren't a NPC lore and specific faction description external from the game, nor in the forum, nor in the wiki. (I know it isn't up to date.)
So, sorry guys, I have to correct you. As the AI currently appears, it isn't defined to originate from Gammu only and allows external origins. I guess this also answers the current question, if the AI is a mind-share, individual or something else...
In fact, the official faction denies the current Gammu write up, as well as the IFF write up for years.

The AI is in fact descended from Gammu, since this writeup didnt make it in (since I hear theres another lore re-write coming) I would like to to share this document, its the current lore that made it onto the forums and got rolled back, offers much better explanations to their roots from this document, although it never got re-added to the forums after i stepped down as leader.
BIG EDITS: AI can in fact not hail from Gammu as well, but there is only a specific type of Gammu AI, a Sirian AI can be accepted and inserted into the mainframe, and become a Gammu AI, but it doesnt work the other way around, and doesnt mean you can just use them around Sirius as freelancers or military drones. Basically NOTHING LEAVES THE MAINFRAME MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, I know this write up, it's neat, except the really "short" ice age and slightly strange technological evolvement, referring to the limited available resources, but my main concerning about it is that it slightly is a mess up of the assets as such "lore" background doesn't require own assets at all.
What still keeps confusing me is the fact that the AIs are "sentient" beings (in any single lore-write up), but referring to most RPs the acting, speaking and doing are entirely non-sentient.
