Of course nobody plays unlawfuls when it's easier to just log a trader and afk while making 5 times the profit. It's also easier to just avoid pirates after the first encounter (see literally any powertrader in 2021)
This won't be fixed by anything other than more players.
Just that mollys had no advantage really - on the contrary even. People see you log, know you have incentive to kill and kill line so they just send a gank or dock. Event was worse for Mollys than non event piracy kek. There was no fence to take part of cargo and it wouldn't work anyways with plugin.
I would definitely call the event a moderately large success, it brought activity to the mostly dead region indeed! Thank you admins - convoys were a lot of fun.
EDIT: Although - I'm a little sad the concept was ignored of adding other factions after roleplay was done. . . begs a question why you'd even introduce the cool concept, make people jump on it and then ignore us entirely when we did roleplay and contacted you in PMs to implement it. This had so much potential that was just wasted
Quote:Participating players may engage in forum roleplay with other factions for either defensive or offensive assistance with additional lesser bounties and/or temporary ZOI increases added to those IDs with sufficient roleplay to become involved. These temporary perks may be added or removed at staff discretion.
I know I will sound like Binski now, but by god - get and train a new staff member from the new crop with console access dedicated to facilitating events guys, it will make your life much easier and community happier as there will be way faster direct feedback and action. One guy, gal or friend beyond the binary is all it takes that doesn't have a million other duties they have to juggle, there's volunteers already.
It wasn't that profitable to be a trader, the incentive working even less so, considering you needed a 5ker to fly this optimally. Even then, it was a meh reward for a 20m investment. Without a steady stream of traders, barely any mollies logged to shoot. Simple as.
Some traders tried to carry the torch, but you can see how that one went.

Especially since another event distracted people from this one
Sure, but you can see that some did it once or twice, then realizing they could do the same with ores, with no risk whatsoever. But I digress, that's a completely different issue.
What I seem to get from my observations and the feedback is:
a) Profits not enough, even though a 20 minute round trip on the first leg netted about 82.5 million profit per hour.
b) Some people were using scouts........not sure how that is bad (maybe the Traders should just throw themselves at the Pirates instead).
c) Not enough people played the 'bad guys'. Even the main Molly Leader spent possibly 15-20+ hours doing the Trade runs. I think I saw a total of 3 people playing Mollys. I believe more was done by non-Molly 'bad guys'.
d) An OF of the main Groups involved did a sum total of 2 runs (Leeds-Honshu). No RP was seen between them and Bretonia asking for escorts. Potential was possibly lost here for more activity?
e) Yes, an extra Faction was being asked to be added to the Event (RH) with an extended ZOI and added Bounty. Every time an Event comes out, people want to know why x,y or z can't be added. Why can't people people just play the Factions that the Event is designed for? If you don't want to use those Factions, wait for an Event that your Faction can be involved in.
f) As usual with most Trade Events, it was the Indies that did most of the Activity. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
g) If everyone used a 5ker for the Event, then 189 trips were done on the first leg and 120 trips on the second leg.
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person
on the previous trade event, everyone one could do it, and not only Zoners or in one leg Freelancers, since there was a decent profit for all, just Zoners and Freelancers, in one leg, had a bonus. there were plenty of oportunities for shooting, not only for mollies, since during the route many factions have zoi, and some could even shoot each other, so that is not admins fault that players lost that oportunitiy, but i blame admins for making another event at the same time, as if the player base wasn't small enough, and most players don't care about this events. the rest is normal drama
