' Wrote:It's really funny as Carrier is definitely weakest against bombers/fighters. I can't run from them (as it can from BS) and it doesn't have effective weaponry to fight back... at all.
So 5 Order Carriers fighting 5 Nomad bombers.... guess how it must end.
If 2 carriers concentrate on downing one bomber, while the remaining 3 concentrating on disrupting the aim of one bomber each...battleship shields still require 2 bombers firing at their best efficiency to drop.
Half the carriers had Solaris... which while they are awesome on normal cruisers, are rather not so awesome on huge carriers.
They are even less awesome if you fire them grouped with normal guns:D
On top of that the carriers were not moving... even if they were due to their size it's not problem to hit them from over 1k with a bomber.
So it's kinda not possible to "disrupt aim" of the bombers.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
I was there yesterday, I was the Light Cruiser that RP'ed with a crew before engaging, and gave orders to fighters around.
I knew I was going to get killed anyway, but I thought it would be a good fight.
Then, these what, 4-5 carriers? jump in with smilies in group chat and all and I ask them all to leave. I tried to. Which was why my fighting wasn't all that good.
And there is a way to control our lolwutters. Ask the Keepers to bombraid the heck out of Minor. I assure you serious players won't lift a finger while the other caps will ask us in pms ''Help plz! D=''

that is not the way to go - no faction is meant to be a "police force". - you cannot fight bad roleplay by stretching yours. - if there s a solid RP reason to ambush - then ambush... but not cause there are many lolwut players, but cause your RP demands it.
so you d do it when there were many perfect RPers, too. - you re not in a position to "teach" others your idea of RP, even if you think that the other players RP is really bad. - thats patronizing.
there are better ways - give them good examples. but when you start to force others - you only make them resist you even more.
I was considering buying an Order light carrier for recon purposes in Alaska and also Reconing the Lost battlestar in Delta, But i dont want to get spammed at for buying one,
I currently have one cruiser and that is the only capital ship i own, I RP it at all times but, Im thinking if i did purchase the Carrier No matter how good my RP was i think i would still get flamed as i have looked at this post, and there is no good saying about the few people that do RP on this server.

The greatest Roleplay ever of an Outcast Battleship being "Stolen"
Seamus, get the ship.
Don't let people whining ruin your gameplay.
Right then, lets see..
1) I've seen better independants in capital ships than faction players in both the Order and Liberty, in terms of roleplaying.
2) The Omicrons are dangerous, you have hostile aliens who want to take over your body flying around with incredibly strong weaponry. Lets all fly starfleas at them, works every time.
3) Get over it. Simple sentence but applies. I mean it in the same way as for Seamus - Don't let other people ruin your gameplay experience. If your experience is utterly ruined by seeing a light Carrier, maybe you are going a little too extreme.
4) Play your way. The rest of the Order players may be utter retards but that doesn't mean you automatically are assumed to be one too. Do what the Search and Destroy crowd did with the BHG and make a name for yourselves.
5) Try to wave your faction flag in indies faces, and then kill them for having a perfectly fine ship, and I will also fund free Light Carriers or Recon ships for anyone who wants one. On the basis that they deny the authority of the faction. Simple physics, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Kill the independants, kill yourselves.

Besides, I havent found anything really interesting to do on my order character lately.

I have a thought for Aki.
Show up on Sunday for the BHG / Order event. I GUARANTEE you'll find lots of interesting things to do - in your escape pod - because even if your side brought in 20 cap ships and we had 5 total ships - we'd all concentrate on you and only you....

Seriously, though - this conversation about caps and/or the actions of Indies seems to be making the circle through the factions. First the (generic) BH'ers with the unlamented DW capwhores. Then the Order forcing RP on players. Then the whole HAF debacle. Now we at the S/D having become the BHG| are actually making RP attempts to keep and/or maintain control of cap ships within RP constraints - so people are going to the Order.
I figure that if I want to see what a ship will do, I just use Ioncross in SP and mess with it for a while. These things cost too much time and energy to just buy and then decide that you don't like them.
y'know, if everyone hadnt pissed and moaned when we started trying to control indy capships through force, this wouldnt be a problem. Once again, it's the fault of every player who supported this idiot behavior that is at fault for all the capspam and oorp coming from indy order pilots now.
Unfortunately, because of ridiculous rules put in place by the admins, there is abso-freaking-lutely nothing we can do about it without getting sanctioned ourselves. Guess why I havent been playing my order character as much lately?
I'm not afraid to ask keepers to come into minor to teach the caps a lesson or whatever, it's been done before with me not knowing it and I don't mind it.
I'm not very happy with it but I knew it was going to happen when we were getting those new caps put in, and I'm also not afraid to report fellow Order players. I've nearly reported one of my own Order| boys (Bs| at the time I think) for repeated rule breaking... but someone else got to it first hehe.
I just wish they had rp and played along... oh well.
