*sigh* so you are telling me that if I fly my cloaking destroyer through asteroids and take minute damage bouncing, my ship will now drop out of cloak? Well there goes all my fun in tau 23...
I didnt read the wole post so i am sorry if i repeat someone elses point.
Now the cloak works as it was intended to (in my opinion) : "cloak-get in-spy-get out-uncloak" and thats it! No more cloaking escapes.
Even the Cd tracked that Bs,it is really hard to blindly shoot something you cannot see

You can use it to get out of CD range, if you activate it during a joust or something similar. Can also be used on approach to get the drop on them: uncloak, drop a mine, blast away their shields. Another trick is to cloak, F3 but don't actually use a jumphole or gate, then cruise off laughing after they 'follow' you.
Generally it is rather niche, but it's a fighter...

If that actually affects the outcome of Dev decision, we might, possibly, have another problem. Majority of the playerbase does not actively participate in discussions regarding balance issues. At best, you can help them to show their opinion through voting on polls (which you did, and that had some rather unexpected results, in contrary to opinions that are being voiced here, didn't it?)
Some members, during those "Cloaks are OP" discussions, even threw such phrases as "It's unimportant how right or wrong your point is, you have to be louder than your proponents, that is all." Well, it had a different wording, but the meaning was the same.
I dont kno if its a good change or not yet, as Ive been away, but I gotta agree with this, if the decisions depend on whos loudest, not whats the best plan, thats a problem. To be encouraged to argue constantly instead of actually playing when the game is the way you like it, thats a bad trend.

Quite simple. Let's make a new ship (preferably a transport, without/only with a few guns), which can be equipped with such a device. It has no combat value, just working as a "Warning and Control System". If you want a cloak ambush, your bombers need to destroy this ship first.
