Perhaps somebody with FRAPS or such should make a video of their spectacular missile feats then?

I believe that I have read somewhere on the forum here that missile movement concept was change completely from 4.84 to 4.85 in that the missiles now don't have ship_speed + missile_speed but only missile_speed... that's why the delay when they start. Maybe that might explain some of this you people are experiencing.

Really? If that is true I need to change my style a little. Anyone confirm this?
I had sort of noticed a difference in missiles, but not just against players - when I was repping one day, I was blasting npcs like crazy. Is there, perhaps, something different with the server that's leading to decreased lag on missiles?
Cannonballs have worse tracking than other missiles to compensate for their increased damage.
Even with zero lag, my missiles miss when I don't fire them right.
Cannonballs are great for doing missions and killing NPCs quickly. They'll joust you, so fire a missile and drop their shield with your guns. About the time that their shields go down, your missile will be hitting them for massive hull damage.
As much as I don't like using ammo-related weapons, I find that the Cball is a good investment to make. It often misses, especially vsing other players zooming around randomly, but on NPCs it hits quite hard.
