How about getting more ships of the same type for the bigger factions? (Rheinland has 2 Bombers, so different ships for the same type). This would add much more reality to the game...
Why should we overload the mod with same type ships?
Rheinland second bomber was originally intended to be a Rheinland unique class ship, much like how the Liberty Grizzly was Libertonian unique class ship, and in the end, they somewhat remain relatively unique, much like how SHF are; few ships of their type. As such, the second Rheinland bomber is a anti-capital support craft and not "another bomber".
This could be the Corsair SHF, quite easily 4 guns and then some turretz, heavy heavy... super heavy fighter... though not really a preatorian wich is better at the moment, I bet this new ship wouldn't work aswell in combat due... And whoever would be hitboxing it (looks at frozen) would probably send you straight to hell on many a time...
The model itself looks good, though for some other ship, a SHF, that is missing...

hm, corsair shf, and for what it will be used? against capital ships? for that corsairs have praet and capital ships, or for pirating? we all know how weak are shf alone... so sorry boys, i dont see reason to have shf for corsairs....
I'm not a fan of SHFs. They're SNAC Practice, really. They're about as useless as Heavy Fighters used to be a mid-way point between VHF and Gunboat, it shares all the flaws of a Gunboat and all the flaws of a VHF and none of the benefits. It's like mounting fighter turrets on a Gunboat, basically. With no armour.
The Corsairs already have a full ship line, I don't think they need a new ship altogether.
being a pilot of a Praetorian [Carson Hawking at your service, senors and senoras], I'd have to say that from the design standpoint, I'd rather it not be changed, primarily because I still haven't gotten used to its tough SNAC armament position when it comes to Bomber against Bomber engagements [which, as others have stated, are not meant to be considered anyway]...
From the artist's standpoint [I'm a fellow 3D artist and I've been wanting to get into making my own ships for FL for a little while now], I'd have to say it looks very nice and very clean as a model, but I agree that it needs that tweak when it comes to the wings. By thickening the back a great deal, you make the thing look bulkier subconsciously. It is that effect that makes the Praetorian and Titan look so heavy.
I'm always open to talking about this. I've actually been considering making a personal bomber for SP, just for the heck of it...but Disco doesn't like my attempts to mod it much. Perhaps someone could point out what it could be.
Anyway, the ship's mesh is nice, concept is alright, form isn't as close to Corsair standards as the original Praetorian, but it still ain't a bad modification, the gameplay concept is alright, but I'd really rather the Praetorian not change since I still have yet to get good with it...and I'd rather not have to change to something else in the middle of it all.
I hope this post was worth the bandwidth...I sorta have this thing about writing long posts and all...

Lots of positive feedback here. Please don't take offence when I completely go against the trend.
Firstly, I don't like the proposed model. It looks too "busy" and the wings are all identical; not something I think master corsair shipbuilders would do. Each pair would have individual purposes, and optimised designs to fulfil those roles, or simply not be included to save on resources. Corsair fighters and bombers should be designed to use resources as efficiently as possible, so not including extra parts that aren't completely necessary. With corsair capital ships, massive amounts of resources are already necessarily committed to the construction, so the focus is on making them look as fearsome as possible.
I just feel the additional wings are clones of all the others, and don't serve any real purpose in the design. The design also follows the skeleton-like shape of the Titan and Centurion; long thin sections with very little or no internal space. On a Titan, it's reasonable to assume that only the central region of the ship is hollow; the wings do not contain space for anything aside from the wiring for turrets, or chutes for missiles.
I would agree that, for a Corsair bomber, this design is, as you say, too "thin".
The current Praetorian model is, appropriately in my view, more exo-skeletal rather than skeletal like the Titan. The wings are substantial enough to support Torpedo bays. Furthermore, the structure appears much stronger, so can support the additional weight of torpedo bays on it's extremities while under the influence of planetary gravity.
In my own view, a Corsair bomber needs to look like a Titan on steroids, rather than a Titan that's sprouted extra arms.
I am, admittedly, biassed as a huge fan of the current model.
The idea of using the model for an SHF is intriguing, however, I am concerned that, even with the current ship line available, I feel utterly spoiled for choice, and have difficulty finding opportunities to put each of the many ships available to the Corsairs to good use. I personally don't think the Corsairs need another ship; I for one wouldn't know what to do with it.
Whilst I applaud the effort, and am always interested in looking at new ideas, I can't say I support this motion, for the reasons stated above. Sorry to be such a pain.

Even spoiled for choice we all know what the corsairs will fly xD
Anyway, like I said, this wasn't a motion, proposal, etc. it was an inspiration that I sparked randomly when asked to make a Corsair bomber. I was half way through typing a "the corsairs don't need another bomber" reply when I had the idea, and decided to make it regardless of the fact that it would probably never make it into the game.
